"Review of my mum went well, covering all aspects of her care. Her diet was covered and updates of how her food intake was going, it was encouraging to hear how she has settled into Barchester Archview Lodge Care Home in the last six months. I am happy with all her care needs, including from a nursing point of view. It was good to hear she is settling in so well."

"I want to express my thanks to the manager and her wonderful staff for their expert and kind care of my mum. My mum lives at home with me and was staying in Archview Lodge while I was on holiday. With a combination of both Alzheimer's and vascular dementia my mum and myself were both anxious about her respite stay. From the initial visit hosted by manager to when I picked her up after her stay, I was very reassured that my mum had been well cared for. The staff all showed a great knowledge and understanding of my mum. Everyone I encountered knew her and showed caring. I'm so glad I have found this lovely care home for my mum."

"Since I became a resident in Archview I have had a very positive experience. The staff can't do enough for me. There is a very happy atmosphere around the home. There are plenty of activities of all types. Entertainment as well, singers, links with schools, animal-friendly, I can enjoy my family visits with the dog. The manager here runs the home to a very high standard. The food is also excellent."

"The Archview team provides professional care and friendship to residents and their relatives in a way that creates a true family and homely feeling. They take time to understand the personality and character of their residents and help them to forge friendships. The constant worry and concern for mum's welfare and security has been unbelievably eased by the high quality care provided, and she has a happy and contented home environment."

"All staff are very kind and helpful towards my parents and the other residents. There are regular meetings for both residents and relatives where information is disseminated and suggestions and opinions are welcomed, including input into the menus. My parents are very happy with the quality, quantity and choice of food provided. There are regular activities and entertainment involving friends and families of the residents as well as the wider community, which provide funding for ongoing residents entertainment. We were lucky to find anywhere that provided the care required and allowed my parents to remain together in the same room, after 60 years together it was not an option to split them up. We are all so grateful that not only do they remain together but that they managed to find a wonderful care facility in which to do so in Archview Lodge."

"Our parents moved to Archview Lodge 8 months ago and very quickly settled in due to the professionalism and friendliness of ALL the staff and other residents. Our whole family are welcomed as participants in their new community, which we very much value. My sister and I both have POA and have been very much involved in their care and well being for several years. Archview Lodge consult our parents and us about their care needs and we are informed quickly and honestly of any incidents or concerns, so they are resolved as we would all prefer. Archview Lodge is a lovely, safe and happy place for mum and dad to remain together for as long as they can."

"Mum has stayed in Archview for almost a year now, from day one meeting the manager we knew we had made the correct choice. Mum is very happy and well cared for, she feels safe and has taken a new lease of life!! All the staff team from the manager down are very caring, professional, approachable and always friendly. They are very respectful to residents and their families alike. Residents are always treated with dignity and as individuals where their independence is provided. The staff go over and above the call of duty. There is always a fun, warm, homely atmosphere. A large part of the worry and stress has been lifted since mum has been starying in Archview. I feel our family has become a lot bigger, as not only has mum forged new friendships our family has as well. Hats off to all the staff of Archview Lodge"

"My aunt moved into the care home in May. The process was very easy. The general manager was extremely helpful and informative. All the other staff are lovely and caring. I have peace of mind she is being looked after. There is so many social activities she has attended and she is enjoying life. She said she is not going anywhere else from here and said she should've done it sooner."

"Two years ago I was searching for a care home for my very elderly parents. Of the eight homes we visited, Archview immediately became the preferred choice. It presented an image of a warm, friendly and caring environment, where all the staff truly respected the residents and their needs. My parents were fortunate to be eventually accepted as residents in Archview, where they were able to spend their final years together with care and attention of the highest quality. All of the staff … the general manager, the nursing staff, the carers and all the ancillary personnel showed a personal interest in the residents. Most noticeably, they all appeared to enjoy what they were doing and nothing, not even the occasional special request, was considered to be an obstacle. Considering I live overseas and was not able to be with my parents immediately in the case of illness or emergencies, it was comforting to have the confidence that they were being looked after so well."

"My mother in law became a resident in the home in August 2016. From the start, the staff have been very friendly to all visitors and are very caring to the residents. In the first few weeks, the staff spent time finding my mother in law's needs and getting to know her as an individual which was a great help in getting her to 'settle in'."

"My Mother was admitted to Archview Lodge Care Home in June 2016 with a chronic ulceration to one leg in particular. This condition had been ongoing from 2015. Prior to her recent move, Mother received occasional treatment as an inpatient for five weeks in hospital in January 2016 when a nurse was available or the ulcers were leaking and Mother would ring for help. From Hospital she was transferred to an interim Care Home in February 2016 where she remained until June. The condition of the ulcers deteriorated significantly between February and June. After only three months in Archview Lodge Care Home, my Mother's leg is healed due entirely to the dedication of the Nursing staff. As a family, we have seen the photographic evidence. It was staggering. Need I say more ?"

"The care/respect and love that was shown/provided to my grandfather was almost as good as the care I had given him - in his own home. Given the parameters of the care sector, my grandfather was cared for in the highest standards possible. He felt safe/protected and loved. All staff across the board showed genuine affection for my grandfather, I would have no hesitation in recommending this care home. Thank you to the manager and her team."

"When my aunt first arrived at Archview, she took some time to settle. The staff were wonderfully patient, kind and understanding. As the team of staff were consistently the same for her 5-month stay we all got to know each other quickly. Throughout her stay, she was treated with dignity, kindness and as an individual. My aunt was continually offered choices (food, activities etc) and her decision was respected. I felt included in the care that she was given and never had to worry about my aunt. She was given a lovely quality of life."

"Mum has been extremely well cared for as have the family. We have spent a lot of time over the past few months in Memory Lane visiting Mum and have been welcomed by all. You can't fail to notice time and care given to all and great patience shown. Sadly for us, Mum passed early April but again, palliative care (and care to us all) was second to none. Management were very proactive and all staff (reception/cleaners etc) were friendly and obviously take pride in their work."

"My mother has now been a resident for nearly five years at Archview Lodge. I am very pleased with the care she gets as she gets progressively worse. The management team are very approachable, nursing team very dedicated, carers are young (most of them) but nice, caring girls and men. The kitchen staff make lovely meals and really try to please everyone and the cleaners do a good job and the laundry is always well done. Overall a very happy environment to leave an elderly relative."

"The standard of both physical and mental care my father receives is excellent. Care continues to be delivered to his individual needs in a gentle, friendly, yet respectful manner. All grades of staff endeavour to ensure the atmosphere is a happy one with lots of 'love' and laughter whilst maintaining a high level of professionalism. Meals are nutritious and well prepared with a varied choice. Relatives are always made to feel very welcome and are well informed about the health and well-being of their loved one. I am very reassured knowing that my father is living at Archview."

"Dad passed away in late April 2017 having enjoyed nearly 10 years of excellent compassionate friendly care. In his final few days the staff were fantastic in their loving, professional care of dad and me and they facilitated what was a very sad moment, making it calm and serene and peaceful. The home is run by loving attentive staff and managed with professional high standards ensuring residents have respect, dignity, safety and caring in a loving, friendly, pleasant home-from-home atmosphere. Highly recommended."

I've learned to crochet, knitted incubator covers, making scarves, made loads of friends from other residents to relatives kindly bringing me in wool. Like getting my hair done by the hairdresser."

"Overall during the last year have seen a decline in mum's health. She has times when she's hallucinating and does not feel quite right. On these occasions the staff deal with her and her wishes. It is very upsetting to me but staff are very caring and considerate and tell me they deal with occasions like this all the time. When not quite right the GP is called and I am informed (mum been there 3 years now)"

"My dad has lived in Archview Lodge Care Home for 21 months now. His experience has been good and he has settled well. The activities provided are excellent and well-advertised. The food is amazing and plenty of choices. Family and friends are always made welcome. Staff are friendly and approachable, issues are taken seriously and addressed. The care is good and my dad's needs are met. His room is small and in need of decoration. His carpet is old and would be better with flooring. The ensuite needs redecorating too."

"Archview Lodge is a very warm and caring environment, one full of laughter and light. I can usually hear my mum singing before I see her when I visit, I’m greatly comforted at how she enjoys life there. Throughout the initial process, I felt informed and supported by the wonderful staff, who were sensitive to both my mum’s needs and my own. I was constantly reassured that the correct decisions were being made and gained confidence and trust in the very professional care team. My mum was treated as an individual from the start. The staff know how to make her laugh, what she likes to eat, and the songs she likes to sing. Good company and music are central to my mum’s well-being and ‘essence’. The staff are preserving the very elements that make my mum who she is. I love my weekly visits to Archview and have a great relationship with all the staff, who all know me by name. I look forward to long summer afternoons in the garden and much singing and fun."
