Activities at Ashlar House Care Home

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Rita Green

As the Community Engagement Lead and Lifestyle Coordinator, I will be spending time with each resident and their loved ones to build a detailed picture of each individual, so that each person’s stay with us is as meaningful as possible.  Although I have been working within this field for many years, thanks to the uniqueness of each resident, I am always enjoying new experiences in my role. My goal is to create an activities programme that caters to the capabilities of residents, including, but not limited to, individual and group activity.

I've spent the past few years forging strong relationships within the community and developing a pool of talented individuals that can support our in-house team to bring out the best in those we care for.

As we never stop growing and changing, it is important that we maintain an up-to-date Getting To Know Me booklet. With your help, the activities scheduled for your loved ones will be as relevant and enjoyable as possible.
I’m very much looking forward to working with all of you.

Musical Magic

Anastasia joined us once again for our monthly Music for Health session, and everyone had a great time!

Old Money

Old Money

We reminisced using antique coins, which lead to a larger discussion about memories of their era. This session was lead and guided by some of the regular visitors, who helped to educate us on the subject. Residents gathered in the lounge and enjoyed listening in on the conversation shared amongst the group.

For the Love of Music

We were joined by vocal entertainer, Steven Brown, who sang music from the the 1950s through to the 1980s. It was a wonderful show!

Christmas Fête

Saturday 8th December saw us host our annual Christmas Fête, which was well-attended by staff, residents and loved ones of Ashlar House.

Santa and his reindeers made an appearance in our dedicated gardens for our less mobile residents to enjoy viewing. Santa and our little helper distributed presents to all the residents, and there was plenty of bubbly to go round, along with a delicious buffet.

Preparing for Our Christmas Fête

Christmas season was in full swing by all at Ashlar when a couple of school children from Bright Horizon Epping Day Nursery and their teachers helped us decorate for our Christmas Fete this weekend. The children kindly completed a little project of creating two boxes for our Tombola.

Christmas Decorations

Ashlar House is now showered with Christmas decorations. A big thank you from our wonderful team players, Kristina and Ingrida, who worked around their shift to add their wonderful artwork.
