Activities at Beeston View Memory Lane Community

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Luisa Painemilla

Activities Coordinator

Hi there, I'm Luisa, Activities Co-ordinator at Iddenshall Hall.

I have worked with the elderly over 8 years and also for fifteen years in the social field as an Activities Coordinator for different social groups in three countries. I have a Degree in Social Integration, a Certificate in Theatrical Psychology and a Music Therapy certificate. In the past I have worked for local authorities and in a cerebral palsy home.

My work is very rewarding and it is a pleasure planning events and activities each month. I enjoy interacting with Residents and learning about their interests, preferences and experiences.

Look out for our activities and events - you are welcome to join us!

Nutrition & Hydration Week

Nutrition and Hydration Week aims to highlight, promote and celebrate improvements in the provision of nutrition and hydration locally, nationally and globally.

At Iddenshall Hall and Beeston View we recogise the importance of eating and drinking well to maintain good health and well being.

We celebrated 'Smoothie - Tuesday' by making our own delicious fresh fruit drinks and 'Not dry day Friday' tea - tasting with a variety of flavoured brews.

Church Service, Hymns & Communion

We were blessed to welcome the Revd Jim Bridgman to Beeston View.

Residents gathered in our lounge for an afternoon of hymns, prayer and communion. The content of the service rang familiar with many of our Residents as they naturally sang along to the hymns and joined in with the Lords Prayer.

Faith being a huge part of the lives of many of our Residents, it is important that we continue to offer this opportunity to them whilst in our care.

A huge THANK YOU to Revd Jim Bridgman for partnering with our home and we look forward to welcoming you back again on a regular basis.

Comic Relief 2024

We all spent a fun afternoon together supporting Comic Relief.

Residents and Staff at Beeston View donned their red noses to support people facing poverty in the UK and around the world.

There was lots of laughter and groans of dismay from the Residents as they listened to bad jokes, sang and danced together and enjoyed special red nose cakes that had been freshly baked by the chefs.

We hope that you had as much fun as we did!

Love is in the air!

Residents here at Iddenshall Hall had a fabulous Valentine’s Day and love was most definitely in the air!

We enjoyed a day of themed activities, delicious heart shaped shortbread biscuits and shared our ‘love’ advice and memories of the most romantic gestures received.

It was a wonderful day.

Chinese New Year

This year Chinese New Year fell on February 10th and marked the beginning of the Year of the Dragon. Residents spent an enjoyable day making Chinese lanterns and decorating the home with an oriental theme.

Our Chef John, created a range of Chinese culinary delights for tasting which everyone agreed were extremely flavoursome.

Happy Chinese New Year to you all!

The great outdoors!

The wintry weather may be upon us but the residents at Iddenshall Hall and Beeston View take every opportunity to wrap up warm, get some fresh air and explore our extensive gardens to see what the winter season brings.

The home is a carefully adapted farm house dating back to the 16th century and, whilst oozing charm, elegance and character, has a distinctly homely feel and we love to take advantage of the extensive grounds that comes with it!
