Activities at Beeston View Memory Lane Community
Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.
Luisa Painemilla
Hi there, I'm Luisa, Activities Co-ordinator at Iddenshall Hall.
I have worked with the elderly over 8 years and also for fifteen years in the social field as an Activities Coordinator for different social groups in three countries. I have a Degree in Social Integration, a Certificate in Theatrical Psychology and a Music Therapy certificate. In the past I have worked for local authorities and in a cerebral palsy home.
My work is very rewarding and it is a pleasure planning events and activities each month. I enjoy interacting with Residents and learning about their interests, preferences and experiences.
Look out for our activities and events - you are welcome to join us!

Life Skills Session
Impromptu Music Session
On the 11th February, upstairs at Beeston View we had an impromptu Music Session, we took out our Keyboard and set it up in the Lounge. We used the pre-programmed tunes from the keyboard to sing along to. There are hundreds of tunes programmed in and most of them are ones the resident's recognise so we sang out loud and got the instruments out too. We formed our own little band, with Stan on the keyboard and guitar, Ray on the drums, Barbara on the tambourine and triangle! We then had relatives joining in too, Margaret played the bells, and Brian tried the bells and wooden sticks too! It was a fun way to spend an afternoon and it was lovely to see the residents and family members doing an activity together and having fun. We even managed some dancing to the classical music!
Christmas Party Day
Our Christmas Party Day was on 21st December 2015 and we enjoyed seeing Santa, who brought presents for all the residents. Without exception, every resident's face lit up when they saw him and it was lovely to share that time with them and see the smiles on their faces.
Christmas is a special time of year and each and every person deserves to share that joy so be a part of that with our residents is always a privilege.
