Activities at Beeston View Memory Lane Community
Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.
Luisa Painemilla
Hi there, I'm Luisa, Activities Co-ordinator at Iddenshall Hall.
I have worked with the elderly over 8 years and also for fifteen years in the social field as an Activities Coordinator for different social groups in three countries. I have a Degree in Social Integration, a Certificate in Theatrical Psychology and a Music Therapy certificate. In the past I have worked for local authorities and in a cerebral palsy home.
My work is very rewarding and it is a pleasure planning events and activities each month. I enjoy interacting with Residents and learning about their interests, preferences and experiences.
Look out for our activities and events - you are welcome to join us!

Memory Walk
On 24th September, staff from Beeston View did a dementia Memory Walk at Delamere Forest, in aid of The Alzheimer's Society.
We walked 6km's and raised just over £430.00!
There were over 3000 participants this year, so it was a great turn out for a great cause. There was a great atmosphere with a pre warm up Zumba session to music. It was a fun morning enjoyed by all.
Thank you to all those who have supported us.
Ice Cream Farm
We took a trip to the Ice Cream Farm, near Tattenhall, recently. Residents took their time choosing which flavour to have as there was such a wide selection to choose from. It was just what we needed on a hot day. It was nice for the residents to sit and watch the children playing and also for them to see the animals that are there. We saw, rabbits, chickens, pigs, alpacas, donkeys and Shetland ponies. It was a relaxing afternoon out.
Clay Day
We have been creating clay models and letters this month and have now spent time painting them. Each resident had their own clay letter to decorate, which we will be putting in their memory boxes or in their rooms for them to enjoy looking at. Residents have been able to show friends and family what they have created.
Prepping for Cupcake Day
In preparation for our cupcake days, we have been making some icing for the residents to use to decorate the cakes. They enjoy choosing and mixing different colours and looking at what decorations they can use.
An Adorable Guest!
We had a lovely visit from the gorgeous grandson of a resident here at Beeston View. Baby, Luke James, who is 5 months old, was all smiles as he met everyone in the home. Residents all loved seeing him and he wasn't the only one smiling!
Music Therapy
Our Music Therapist, who visits once a month, had the Beeston View residents dancing, singing and playing instruments again in August. They were dressing up in big shades and sunny hats as we played songs from different countries, with a change of outfit for each country. Residents are always affected positively by her visits.
