Activities at Brookfield Care Home
Our Activities coordinator dedicates her time on getting feedback from our residents of what they like to do. We have introduced paper mornings which involves group discussions and an active mind, and we also have a variety of entertainers that come in on a weekly basis. We hold a residents quiz once a week as it is one of our more popular activities, we now call it the Big Quiz due to its popularity.
It is important that we involve the community and family in many of our activities. We have the local rugby club heritage centre coming in once a week to do Bocci (indoor bowls) and seated exercise. We also hold cheese and wine evenings for family and residents which are very popular. Here at Brookfield we pride ourselves on the fabulous bond our activity coordinator has with all our residents as they are as happy to see her each morning as she is to see her friends.

Life at Brookfield Care Home
Employee of the Month - April
Congratulations to Head Chef, Pat Craig, who was named as our Employee of the Month for April here at Brookfield.
St George's Day
We had a traditional lunch of beef pie and mash, in addition to a raffle and a film in the afternoon, all in the name of St George.
101st Birthday Celebrations
Resident, Gudrun, recently celebrated her 101st birthday with her family right here at Brookfield. She has been a resident since 2012 and still enjoys spending time with her family and going for walks around the grounds.
The Hatched Egg Experience
The press has arrived as well as the chickens for Brookfield’s 'Hatched Egg Experience', which we did last year and are doing again because it gives residents so much joy, as you can see.
Thirsty Thursday
This is our Hydration Station; we set it up as part of Nutrition & Hydration Week to encourage residents to drink plenty of fluids.
Preparing for Easter
Our Deputy Manager, Jane, hand-stitched some chicks and filled them with creme eggs for residents to enjoy over Easter.
We also spent some time making Easter cards for friends and family.
