"Caldy Manor Care Home is an excellent care home. The staff are exceptional. My mum and dad lived at Caldy for the last 2 years. My dad passed away last week and the staff could not have been more helpful and loving to my mum and the rest of the family. The Caldy Manor staff have become family to my mum. I live in New Zealand and I know my mum is in the very best possible place. I would recommend Caldy Manor 110%!"

"My Mum has been in Caldy Manor now for 2 years she has Alzheimer's. Although initially this was a difficult decision we could not have been happier with the care we have received. The staff are outstanding, kind and thoughtful - nothing is too much trouble. All residents have their hair done weekly and there is entertainment on a daily basis. In the warmer weather the residents can be found outside eating ice lollies and enjoying the lovely gardens. The atmosphere is friendly and happy and you can always help yourselves to a cup of tea or stay for lunch or dinner. I feel really lucky that my Mum is here at Caldy I feel that her care is excellent and the little touches throughout the home, flowers etc make it a lovely warm welcoming home. Smells lovely and your welcome anytime at all. As a Nurse I feel that I can recommend Caldy both as a professional but most importantly as a daughter."

"To find a care home, showing compassion and dignity for ones loved one, is of paramount importance. I have found this to be the case at Caldy Manor, where the caring staff and management, always on hand to listen and help with any questions a relative may wish to raise. My husband is at present receiving respite care, with a view to longer term care."

"We have been visiting an elderly man and his wife in this home for several years. Initially the care seemed satisfactory but then things deteriorated. The man was often unclean and unshaven. His clothes were dirty and soiled. The room smelt horribly of urine. The food seems okay and the staff have always been friendly. We have discussed this with several other visitors to this elderly couple and found they were of the same opinion. Very recently there has been some improvement with refurbishment of some of the room contents."

"Barchester Caldy Manor is an amazing care home. Beautiful environment, wonderful gardens and spotlessly clean. The staff are so patient and kind, all the time. Nothing is too much trouble. They know the residents well and always have time for a chat and a laugh. The food is very good- with a good choice at every meal."

"This is, without doubt, the most impressive home from among the 18 I contacted/visited when looking for appropriate medium-term respite for my 86 year old dad. The settings are fantastic, every single member of staff that I have met are genuinely interested in dad's welfare and well-being and the facilities are excellent. Caldy Manor represents excellent value for money and has the added reassurance of good ratings by the Care Quality Commission. In addition, the weekly 'surgery' held at the home by the local GP, as well as the determination of the staff to ensure that all external health care providers fulfil their duties ensures piece of mind - not least because prior to dad's stay, trying to co-ordinate, chase or manage his health needs from among the various providers was almost impossible. Dad, who has previously been averse to the idea of a care home, is happy, settled and enjoying his time at Caldy Manor."

"Mum and dad went to Caldy Manor in August 2014 and were made very welcome - they settled in as well as can be expected - with such a life changing experience. We lost mum this January and I feel that everybody at Caldy Manor have helped dad tremendously. I go to see dad at least 3/4 times a week so I do feel I am in a positive position to be aware of how residents are treated - always with dignity. As expected I have had a few concerns and I find the manager and deputy very willing and helpful, and feel assured that they will do everything to put things right - even if not immediately. All the seniors and staff are very approachable. The staff turnover has been exceptionally high over the last 1 and a half years and I hope we can go through a more settled period. One of my concerns has been 'stimulation' and entertainment, these areas are being actioned positively with new initiatives and a new staff member."

"I am very pleased with the care for my mother (91) and my father (95). They share a room and every provision has been made for them. The staff are friendly and professional. They are treated with respect and patience. No problem is too much and they get excellent care. The manager is always available and have been so helpful with the financial aspect of their care. I am delighted and relieved they are at Barchester Caldy Manor."

"Caldy Manor is set in peaceful surroundings with lovely gardens and a large terrace. The rooms are comfortable and the home has good facilities and a welcoming and friendly atmosphere. The staff are kind, considerate and caring and I am very happy with the choice we have made for my father who needs care as he is now quite frail."

"This was a very hard decision for us as a family and the staff at the home couldn't be more supportive to not only mum but us as a family. Mum found it hard to settle at first but the care of the staff helped her to settle in well. It is a friendly, warm home and home is what it is for mum now. The rooms are well kept and clean and very comfortable. We are happy with our decision."

"Caldy Manor, on the Wirral, is a warm and friendly place with excellent attentive staff. My mother has a lovely room overlooking beautiful gardens. She feels safe and well cared for with new friends made and activities to do. Her condition has improved since living at Caldy Manor these last 12 months and I am pleased that she is no longer lonely and now more content. I can fully recommend Caldy Manor."

"My brother and his wife were living in Yorkshire and they came to the Caldy Manor in April 2012. They had been living in their own home, with some help. My brother was diagnosed with dementia about 12months before they came to Caldy Manor. My brother had had a fall and broken his hip, during the time he was in hospital, his wife, my sister in law, stayed with us in Wirral. They only have one son, who lives in America, he requested I find them a care home in Wirral, for them to have the support of my family. Caldy Manor, at present, is not as good as it was in 2012."

"The care and nurturing both my parents receive is extraordinarily good. They are treated with respect, (which is paramount) subjected to high levels of communication and guided when making choices. The activities stimulate them and keep them content. A heartfelt thank you. We could not have found anywhere better."

"I was impressed with the genuineness of the care and how deeply it was embedded in the culture. My impression was that this caring attitude was so strong it would survive a change at the senior leadership level. An example was the tenderness with which a carer held and stroked the hand of a very immobile lady. Wow! It was not the only example of this kind. The compassion came shining through."

"Genuine care and concern for the residents. Best interests come first, listens to the relatives. The care home feels like a home from home and not an institution. I feel confident my relatives are receiving the best care and gives me peace of mind knowing excellent care is being provided."

"Caldy have been excellent for my parents. The staff are both professional and very friendly, as a result my parents have always felt like this was their home. As they have aged, the management has always been on top of their situation and we have felt the medical situation has very comprehensive. As a result we have never worried about their safety, health or wellbeing. The staff are very friendly and my parents are very settled, happy and content."

"We found no other home that gave the level of care and understood out father's requirements. The low level of staff turnover has been reflected in how staff treat our father and some have gone over and above in what could be injected to keep him happy and feel at home."

"Having visited numerous care homes during the last few months, so that we could assess the various needs required for my brother, at long last, we have found the answer. CALDY MANOR. As soon as we entered this beautiful building we felt such a relief. Invited to stay for a very nice lunch and a tour of the rooms - each being individual and tastefully decorated - we were so impressed. The staff are unbelievable. At all times checking the needs of the residents, making sure that they have everything they want or need, are happy and content/chatting/laughing/discussing/listening, or just sitting quietly, stroking a hand. As we said to each other, "If you had to go into a care home, you would not choose anywhere else" Would we recommend Caldy Manor? Indeed we would."

"My husband stayed for one week and was very impressed. He thought everything was so good, accommodation, food, staff, care. He says that what he expected, he received during his stay. He has experience of another care home and this far exceeds that experience. He feels that no one could go wrong in booking in here."

"Our families have had three residents at Caldy Manor. Sadly one died this summer but the care and compassion shown to us all was above and beyond what would be expected, all the staff put themselves out to help relatives at that difficult time. More recently we wanted to have a surprise birthday party for a reluctant relative again super cooperation and nothing was too much trouble. It was a great success even enjoyed by the person who didn't want any fuss."

"We chose Caldy Manor Care home for my Mum and Dad for several reasons but the main reason was the staff. All their daughters live in Australasia! My Dad passed away in March 2018 and the staff were amazing, helping my Mum to cope with the loss. My Mum now considers Caldy as home. The staff look after my Mum as if she was family. I cannot say how grateful I am to them for all the loving care. They try to take Mum out of the home - she is wheelchair bound, so it is hard. But Mum LOVES to go out and the staff try as hard as they can to do this. This month, 2 carers took my Mum to Birkenhead to see Prince Harry and Megan. She actually met Harry - who held her hand and talked to her for 5 mins, then Megan also held her hand! None of this would have been possible without the kindness of the staff involved. The food is amazing - I love eating there! I cannot recommend this home more highly."

"I visited my friends who are now both residents in your lovely home. What a delightful home, lovely gardens, rooms, dining room and such a lovely meal was served which had been freshly prepared. My friends had their laundry done for them and some items even ironed. Excellent, I was very, very impressed."

"My 90-year-old father had respite care in Clady Manor. He was treated very well, with courtesy and respect. He enjoyed the food and the activities provided. The staff are friendly and fellow residents provided him with good companionship. He was happy and said all the staff did their best. The manager is insightful, intuitive and makes every effort to treat all residents as individuals. She is a superb manager, kind and caring to relatives as well. Thank you"

"My mother spent twelve months on Memory Lane. The staff kept her looking immaculate as they do all the residents. However, this home should not take dementia patients. My mother was unceremoniously told to leave between Christmas and New Year because the staff could not cope with her behaviour, but they advertise dementia care. I think training is lacking especially de-escalation training. I was not allowed back in her room, staff bought bags and boxes out to the car park. This is no way to treat a 97-year-old lady. Memory lane needs increased staffing."

"It is eight months since my parents' arrival here. The staff supported them in their greatest wish to stay together till the end, when Mum passed away in February. The staff have always been kind, respectful and cheerful, trying hard to care for each person individually, whilst balancing this with the needs of other residents. They have an intuitive sense as to just how much care will be accepted without irritating or aggravating residents. They try to encourage residents to get involved in group activities and outings, and to live as full and happy a life as possible but respect Dad when he chooses to be in his room. Staff do everything they can to facilitate family and friends visiting, for meals in and trips out. My family and I have talked often over the last few months with the manager and other staff, and are always made to feel valued, even when staff are busy. The manager is a very caring, perceptive, readily available, and she leads a fantastic team of people. Thank you."

"My mother moved into Caldy Manor four months ago. Considering her circumstances, 90 with dementia, Mum settled into the home so quickly. From day one, I have been very impressed with the quality of care; all interactions I have seen between staff and residents have been incredibly friendly and supportive – a very caring, professional and well-run home. The relatively smaller home, in terms of the number of residents, helps create a supportive family atmosphere. Considerable efforts are made to provide a range of events for the residents. The facilities, including lounge, bedroom, communal areas, dining room etc, are all maintained to a high standard, with a lovely area outside for drinks and/or walks in the garden. Moving an aged parent into a care home is never an easy decision, but I can honestly say moving Mum into Caldy Manor was the best decision we could have made, and we are extremely happy with the standard of care and attention. Thank you."

"Caldy Manor is unlike many purpose-built care homes and doesn’t have a clinical feel. It is a lovely old Manor House set in a pretty garden with a terrace residents can sit out on. The welcome I received was warm and genuine. The staff were professional and caring and treated residents with kindness, dignity and respect. The home feels like a family."

"My relative has been at Caldy Manor Care Home for a few years and always had super love and care. This year she was in hospital. The Caldy Manor team, through this time, were absolutely exceptional with their care and support. They visited our relative when they had finished their shift, brought in perfumes, photos and creams to make them comfortable. They sat and talked to our relative for hours. The manager was an absolute rock for my brother and I, sending us messages of support, checking in on us and how we were coping, offering to bring us food, sit with our relative to give us time to sleep/shower, we felt like her number one priority. She was there with us every step of the way. We couldn't have gotten through it without her. The hospital said our relative wouldn't walk again but the manager didn't accept this - she has supported with care, arranging physio and now our relative is standing again. They never gave up on our relative and the care is above and beyond - truly exceptional."

"When visiting Barchester Caldy Manor, I find the home and the staff welcoming. My grandma, who has been a resident for a few years now, has found herself somewhere she can live happily knowing she will be well cared for. She even goes out on trips with other residents, including a recent trip down the canals. I also remember seeing photos of her in Llandudno and Park Gate. The team are great with her and her increasing needs. I wouldn't consider another home."

"I am so glad that my mother spent her last four years at Caldy Manor Care Home, this really is a special place - not only are the house and grounds wonderful to live in but the love and care from every member of staff was exceptional. The manager leads a fantastic team by example, showing real love and respect for all of the residents. Every effort was made to make my mother feel at home and a valued member of the family and, despite her growing dementia, she regularly joined in with many activities and outings that added tremendously to her quality of life. During the last few days of Mum's life, the care staff did everything possible to give support to the family and allow my mother to die with dignity in her final home. The manager herself joined in with shifts of sitting at Mum's bedside and kept us updated when we could not be there. Staff members even turned up to the funeral to pay their respects. I can't say a big enough 'Thank You' to all!"

"We have been very pleased with Caldy Manor since Mum moved in 30 months ago. Mum has become relaxed and far less anxious than previously. The staff and their care have been the primary reason for this. Not only are they attentive, but their time in the role makes for an ongoing, familiar environment. Add to that the diverse and frequent range of activities, and it is easy to see why Mum has improved. We are very happy that Mum moved to Caldy Manor."

"My Father-in-Law has lived at Caldy Manor for seven years so we have got to know the colleagues there and the premises quite well with family visiting every couple of days. I have visited a number of care homes and Caldy Manor stands apart as having a beautiful environment, quality surroundings, food choices and levels of cleanliness. This is a beautiful old Manor House staffed with a full range of highly skilled and caring people. In summer the gardens are more accessible and are beautifully maintained. The level of care - and clear love - that colleagues at Caldy Manor showed for my Father-in-Law was exceptional; he clearly had become part of their family and nothing he required was too much. Thank you so much to everyone at Caldy Manor for making my Father-in-Law so comfortable and to feel so welcomed."
