Activities at Challoner House Care Home
Our specialist activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as possible, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join with activities and events as often as they can.
Read our brochure 'Life-enriching activities' for more information about life in our care homes.

Sue Wins Regional Care Accolade
Senior Care Assistant, Sue Burroughs has recently been presented with the 'Care Home Worker' Award at the Regional 2018 Great British Care Awards, and has made it through to the national finals.
The awards ceremony took place on the 6th November, with over 400 of the very best in social care attending a glittering awards ceremony at Birmingham for the regional finals of the South West Gala event.
The South West Regional Awards are part of the Great British Care Awards, a series of 9 regional awards ceremonies celebrating excellence across the care sector. The purpose of the awards is to promote best practice within both the home care and care home sectors, and pay tribute to those individuals who have demonstrated outstanding excellence within their field of work.
Halloween
Decorated to the theme, everyone at Challoner House was looking forward to Halloween! Staff dressed up and we enjoyed music from one of our own staff members. Residents got into the spirit of things and had a ghoulish day!
Zoolab Returns
Heather from Zoolab joined us and brought some of her amazing animal friends with her for the residents to meet and even hold.
There was a corn snake, a fluffy Guinea pig and the residents loved meeting them all – especially the bearded dragon!
