"My dad was at Cherry Blossom for a two-week respite and he loves it there. The staff was very friendly and loving, my dad didn’t even miss me for one day. He didn’t want to come back home. He said he will miss his friends ( the staff). Management were very helpful and responsive. I really want to thanks to everyone who looked after my dad and gave him so much love and care. Thanks."

"My mother is a resident at Cherry Blossom, the staff are amazing! The care they provide is beyond and above, they keep me updated all the time. I and my family know that she is safe and cared for in the most highest standard that we can ever imagine. They have lots of things to join in with, it’s very clean and the bedrooms are very pretty."

"I have found all the staff at Barchester Cherry Blossom Manor an absolute delight. Always willing to help, listen and do their best to meet residents' and families' concerns, needs, wants and desires. Nothing is too much trouble and there is always time for a friendly chat. On Mum's 94th birthday last week, everybody helped her celebrate and did everything possible to make her day extra special. The family joined Mum for lunch in the private dining room, where we enjoyed table service amongst birthday balloons, at the end of the meal the staff brought in a lovely birthday cake and all sang Happy Birthday. There is a real homely atmosphere here, only possible because everyone, no matter what their role, cares."

"Barchester Cherry Blossom Manor Care Home provided respite care for my mum, after a stay in hospital, and we couldn’t have asked for more. From the very first contact, the team were understanding, patient, efficient and kind in a very difficult and emotional situation. They listened to what we needed and provided a lovely room, excellent care and communicated well with us regarding her rehabilitation. The staff were fantastic with Mum and took time to chat with her and they all were familiar with her situation and treated her with dignity. She settled in quickly and felt safe and looked after. The management team were very efficient and professional and helped me arrange additional transport services when a hospital visit was required. There was a varied menu, laundry services and plenty of daily activities. A friendly, well-run care home that I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to anyone, as well as knowing when we reach the time when full-time care is required that our mum will be in safe hands."

"My mother arrived at Barchester Cherry Blossom Manor having been told by hospital that she would never get out of bed, would be doubly incontinent and not survive the year! She is now walking (with a frame) to the bathroom or lounge. She is more content than she has been for years. She does have some problems but she's not aware and there is no need for her to know. The staff have been very good in giving her lots of encouragement."

"When I left my 94-year-old dad in a hospital with seasonal flu and severe delirium, I really feared the worst. He was transferred to Cherry Blossom in February 2023 by the NHS still very confused, doubly incontinent, underweight and weak, with the Doctor assessing his delirium and telling me he wouldn’t survive another spell in hospital. Well what a difference 5 months makes, his delirium is gone, the incontinence largely reversed, much of his mobility has returned and he looks a picture of health, this is all due to the excellent Cherry Blossom team. The home is set in a lovely rural location and maintained to a very high standard, the rooms are light, modern safe and comfortable with many recreational areas and activities, most importantly I am kept well informed by the excellent nursing team and I know that Dad is happy and safe. When the team arranged a little celebration for his 94th birthday he told me he was looking forward to celebrating his 95th there, what more can a son ask for."

"My stay at Cherry Blossom Manor was for 2 months. The medical staff are excellent and qualified for the role, the support staff are very friendly and helpful and the menu is varied and tasty with meat or fish option most days. Cannot comment on activities as I was on bed rest but aware of activities daily. All residents have a comprehensive record tracking health issues. All around a very enjoyable experience given the circumstances of my residency."

"The staff and management displayed an excellent level of service and care at all times 24/7. They kept us informed at all times when there were changes in conditions and needs following his recent death and continued during this process to provide the family with care and compassion. The home dealt with all the necessary paperwork that's required which helped us out immensely. We would recommend this care home to anyone."

"The staff at Cherry Blossom are excellent in every way - carers, nursing staff, admin, catering, housekeeping and activity teams. My mother is treated with dignity and compassion, but also humour and individualised care at all times. The nursing team maintain excellent contact with loved ones, including regular care reviews and residents' meetings, but they also liaise with GPs and other services and are excellent advocates for those in their care. They sit in with residents in potentially distressing meetings and understand troubling family dynamics. Residents are also visited in the hospital if necessary. As a nurse and tutor myself, I know what excellent care is, and this is always obvious in the care of my mother. I am convinced that she is safe and well cared for, and the nursing staff are proactive in maximising her health potential. It feels like a real community, and we always feel part of this when we visit. Thanks so very much; you should be so proud of all that you achieve every day."

"The whole process of my mum moving went very smoothly and professionally. The staff have been very kind, and patient and are always ready to listen to your requests. They really do care for my mum, she always looks well and happy when I visit her. They also continue to provide my mum with her Catholic faith which is very important to us. They put her daily Mass online."

"Initially, my father and mother were due to have two weeks of respite care but this turned out to be permanent residency for my father after my mother passed away. The love, care and support that we as a family received from the staff was superb, particularly when my father required end-of-life care before his passing last week. This is our first experience of using a care home and I'm so happy we chose Cherry Blossom Manor. We'd highly recommend it to others."

"Mum stayed for a two-week respite break after hardly being away from home in the last 50 years! Mum is 89 years old, has Parkinson's disease, severe mobility issues and is in constant pain. Staff went over and above, for example, changing mattresses, bedding and moving furniture to help Mum settle. The room was comfortable and clean, next to a stunning garden. When we left Mum, we felt confident that she was being looked after in safe hands."

"My sister spent several years in Cherry Blossom Manor before she died. She was known as a bit of a character, and we know she would sometime be a bit of a difficult character. "Throughout the last two years, my mother-in-law has been a resident at Cherry Blossom; she has been cared for and treated with the utmost respect and dignity by all the staff. My husband and myself are kept up to date with how she is doing and any interventions needed by any other health care professional. Lead nurses and carers are always cheerful and willing to listen to any concerns or worries we have. A massive thank you to all involved in my mother-in-law's care. I would definitely recommend Cherry Blossom to anybody who was looking for a nursing home for their loved ones."

"I have been visiting Cherry Blossom Manor for over two years now to see my godmother. Initially, it was a difficult transition for her to move away from her home. However, after a couple of months, she settled in and became accustomed to and comfortable in her new home. The staff have been incredibly helpful and have taken great care to look after her, from the friendly personal attention of those connecting with her on a daily basis to the special meals prepared for her as her needs changed. Sadly, she passed away this week. Right to the end, I witnessed the staff showing true compassion and empathy towards her, making sure she was comfortable and felt personally supported. I wish to thank everyone at Cherry Blossom Manor for making her feel valued and loved through her last two years."

"I have written to the Head of Memory Lane to thank her for the wonderful care that my wife received on Memory Lane. It far exceeded my expectations and I could not have been happier with Cherry Blossom Manor. I would recommend it unreservedly to anyone who was wanting to place a relative in care. One hears so many bad reports about care homes, but Cherry Blossom is clearly an exception. Apart from the lovely environment, it was clean and always well staffed with kind and attentive carers who really seemed to enjoy their job."

"My mother moved to Cherry Blossom Manor in November 2019. She settled quickly and enjoyed the activities organised for her. She had a mobile phone in her room and spoke to her daily. She told us how well she was being looked after and often whilst we were talking in the evening someone would pop in with a cup of tea and a biscuit for her. Lockdown curtailed our visits to her but we were still able to talk and the home provided a tablet so that we could video call her too. They set up a Covid safe pod which we could book to use, she could sit on the other side of the screen and see the family. The pandemic reduced her activities and she began to decline. Towards the end of 2021, we were able to visit face to face again and brought her out for tea occasionally. Sadly her dementia accelerated and she passed away in November 2021. The staff at the home were extremely caring and it was great to learn how much she had become part of their "family." We are very grateful to all her carers."

"We have been very happy with the care of our aunt. The staff on the memory lane unit have been kind, considerate and caring. As we didn't live in the area it was difficult to visit regularly and we were always well-informed about our aunt's health and well-being. There was always a warm welcome from all the staff and the environment was clean, safe and bright. It takes teamwork to produce that environment and this was certainly the case at Cherry Blossom. "Since my husband was transferred from another home into Cherry Blossom his condition is slowly improving. His weight had plummeted as he had not been eating properly or dinging. He is now beginning to gain weight and is more relaxed and much happier. I am so relieved that he is now being well looked after and in the safe hands of good dedicated staff."

"My wife's parents moved into Cherry Blossom over 3 years ago, both having various care needs. Mum had severe dementia. Both of them have subsequently died. The care and concern shown by both the care and nursing staff was second to none. Even the cleaning and kitchen staff showed care and understanding. All involved supported the resident, as well as the family members, with empathy and respect. It was touching to see how involved the staff were their lives. Some of the staff have be friends. Personally, I cannot speak highly enough of the staff and the level of care. Thanks you all so much"

"The staff have been amazing, they worked with a hospital 160 miles away to have my dad (who has late-stage dementia) transferred to them. Upon his arrival, he was heavily sedated and had a number of bedsores, one of which had been there as an open wound for many weeks. Since his arrival in June, his sores have healed, he is no longer sedated or on high levels of pain medication. He is up and dressed by the team every day. The transformation in my dad's condition is a true testament to this wonderful home and the staff. Our only regret is not getting my dad here sooner."

"My wife was a resident at Cherry Blossom Manor for 2 weeks in June for respite care. The home was chosen as my son and daughter live nearby and are able to visit. My dealings with management and staff was efficient, helpful, cheerful and friendly. I was most impressed with the care and professionalism of the nurse and felt my wife was in excellent hands to cope with my wife's dementia and ensure her safety and care. I was able to go away relaxed, and my wife settled well. I am unable to comment on facilities, food and activities as I was not there - my wife is unable to comment in any meaningful way."

"Barchester Cherry Blossom Manor has become my sanctuary and given me piece of mind, from when my husband came to need their care to keep him safe, healthy and well. He has twenty four hour care and since January 2021, he has become a full time resident . All the staff have demonstrated the upmost professional, social and psychological skills when dealing with him. My husband is a younger resident with a challenging diagnosis which at times can lead to challenging situations and this has resulted in all the staff being aware of his needs and using coping strategies to help him and themselves manage his twenty four hour care. In addition to this, Barchester Cherry Blossom Manor has dealt with restrictions due to the Covid-19 crisis and also managed me who was desperate to see my husband. The staff are very understanding of daily telephone calls and always go out of their way to keep me informed of any developments or changes in his condition. I cannot express my high regard and respect for this home. Barchester Cherry Blossom Manor, you are the best!"

"As a family the pandemic brought significant change including the need for dad to be moved into nursing care due to his needs and for his safety. The care that has provided has been second to none and the attention provided by the staffing team in an ever-evolving situation due to my dads complex needs have been praised by both ourselves (me and mum) but also by his medical team. Recently we also had a lengthy CHC meeting which the care practitioner attended. Her knowledge of my dad, awareness of his care and nursing needs alongside the risks despite him only having moved in during January 2021 was in-depth and reassured us as a family that he is in very good, caring and knowledgeable hands. She has been a source of much support and comfort during these times and has absolutely advocated for my dad and supported us as a family and we are very grateful. The whole Cherry Blossom team have gone out of their way to be supportive and we would highly recommend!"

"My cousin wasn't here for long and during the pandemic, we were unable to visit but we found the staff very helpful on the phone. They kept us well informed me my cousin's state a were sympathetic concerning her and our needs. "The relief of coming to Cherry Blossom Manor after a long time of struggling with back pain and general uselessness was indescribable. To be welcomed and looked after, caring and friendly willing people was like a dream come true. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble for them and the comfortable room with its own ensuite was like a dream come true. "Generally, care is good, residents are clean and well-fed. Little things are missed ensuring hair is well brushed as residents like it is hit and miss. Clothes tend to look 'thrown on' in those who are very dependent. My own relative has complained regularly over 4 years that night staff are rough in their handling (no hint of maliciousness) oral care is poor. The staff deserve a monetary bonus for containing the one case of Covid-19 and preventing any external infection entering 1st class."

"After a poor experience from another care home provider, we contacted Cherry Blossom Manor. They reassured us that they could meet Dad's needs and that whatever happened they could manage. They were true to their word. He spent six months at Cherry Blossom Manor and settled in quickly. The standards of care are exceptional. There is a very relaxed feeling to the care home and the staff are very friendly with nothing being too much trouble. Unfortunately, Dad passed away recently. We asked that CBM manage his needs as he did not want to go to hospital unless absolutely unavoidable. Throughout his final days, the nursing team were amazing along with all of the staff team. Not only did they give wonderful care to Dad but they were also very supportive to his family. I would highly recommend CBM."

"My father arrived at Cherry Blossom Manor at very short notice in April 2019, he has late-stage vascular dementia. After the initial settling in, issues he has now established a simple daily routine and seems content with his new life/home at Cherry Blossom Manor. He has made friends with other residents, joined in sing-a-longs and has been on a day trip. There are other regular daily activities he has yet to sample. The friendly staff are always on hand to talk to him and help with day to day tasks such as washing/shaving/dressing/eating hi meals. He is well thought of by the staff who look after him. I am happy my father is in a safe and caring environment and am pleased with the level of care he is currently receiving."

"Both my father and my mother moved into Cherry Blossom Manor in January 2018. My mother suffers from dementia and my father has vascular Dementia following a brain haemorrhage. My father recently passed away and the general care and the nursing care he received at Cherry Blossom Manor was excellent, particularly in his last few days. Likewise, the care my mother receives is excellent, due to the dementia, she is anxious a lot of the time and forgets that my father has died. The carers do a good job of keeping her as calm as possible."

"We did have a few issues on the first 3 days of my father being here. Eg soft food only and to be assisted when eating. Forgot to give prescription protein drink until I mentioned this plus all of the above was in his notes for staff to read. Once I had a talk with the staff and manager on day 3, all was sorted. The staff are really lovely but let it down by not reading his notes. He was only here for 8 days in total."

"I enjoyed the room with a wet room but the latter was a bit small. The room was well decorated; there were more activities available, though I was unable to participate due to having a urinary infection and being bedbound for 5 days. Generally, the staff were caring and thoughtful. I had some concern when my tablets were found on the floor and table (3). Unfortunately, after returning home I have been admitted to hospital with blood clots in my lungs and heart, possibly brought on by being immobile during my infection."

"I know that my husband would join me in saying a huge thank you for the wonderful surprise on celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary (I came with my usual cheese sandwich!). The balloons are very happy standing in the living room, the flowers and cards also. The cake was delicious and so was the lunch (unexpected but lovely) and despite being diabetic, my sugar level was normal so what turned out to be a lovely day to see turned out to be a day to remember. "We found the staff professional, approachable and compassionate at all times when it came to looking after the needs of my stepmother, making a home away from home. The entertainment and the hairdresser helped to provide a variety to make the stay a good one. The gardens are well maintained, full of flowers providing a delightful, peaceful place to sit. The place was always clean and tidy, the rooms are modern and cheerful and the meals provided were of a very high standard. The Café provided a really nice break from the room. This was always well stocked with yummy cakes and drinks."

"I came to visit my grandmother on Sunday 15/7/18. As usual, carers were very polite, my nan was well presented and seemed in a good mood. I stayed with my Nan whilst she had her lunch, which she usually enjoys very much. The head chef here is great and always very accommodating towards my nan's needs and requests. However, this Sunday my nan was very disheartened at lunchtime. The pork was very tough, which I was shocked at as it’s usually very soft, the mash was like water and when I questioned what was going on as the food is normally great, I was told a new chef had been taken on board. I hope he is receiving adequate training as to me and to my nan it didn’t seem like he knew how to cook correctly for the elderly. I really hope this is sorted as my nan is very happy at Cherry and I am also happy with the care she receives. This is the first time we have had any issue at Cherry and I hope now it’s been addressed that it won’t be a regular thing. Apart from that, thumbs up to all the staff."

"There never seems to be sufficient care staff to deal with the morning duties, like getting out of bed and washing/dressing. It is understood that the reason is frequent staff sickness of 20 - 40 per cent which may be due to lack of motivation and commitment to service. Management is never seen around the facility checking on status - but always within the office. Some care staff/nurses are very good and attentive."

"This care home manages my mother's personal needs 24/7 including regular services and nursing. My mother is treated in many kind ways by all the staff and has maintained a good relationship with ourselves in order to cooperate on timing, visits and events. I have encouraged the home to create a musical extension to their regular timetable and help by playing the piano which is appreciated as well. The Christmas Party this year was well organised and the standard of fun exceptional. I have participated in regular events about dementia training. The communication between different layers of staffing could be improved sometimes when my outsider view is challenged but I do not hold this as a severe criticism."

"Mum became a resident at the start of 2017. We found the management and staff to be polite and very helpful in getting Mum settled in and putting our minds at ease. My family and I feel confident we have made the right choice for Mum as the management and staff continue to be very helpful and supportive. We feel Cherry Blossom Manor to be a nice quiet and relaxing environment when we visit."

"We've been very pleased with Cherry Blossom since Mum came here in May 2016. Since the manager came in January we have been impressed with any changes, and in May the manager was extremely helpful with the arrangements for Mum to attend her grandson's wedding. All the staff and carers have been so lovely and helpful. We have another wedding in August to sort! Food is the only thing we would mark down a bit but mum is very fussy!"

"The care home is very nicely run and feeling of a home from home. The only issue is the cleaning in rooms could be better and high class. So if they could address this it would add to people's stay - we have added an Air purifier to help the air be clean and fresh."

"The whole experience of moving mum from another home after 2 weeks was a positive one. We arrived without an appointment late one Sunday night to be shown around the home. The move was made easy and stress-free by the staff including Manager, Admin, Reception and Matron. A warm welcome, caring staff and lots of TLC has helped my mother to settle well and now stay permanently at Cherry Blossom. The atmosphere is friendly, caring and most of the staff are brilliant.
