Activities at Cherry Trees Care Home
Our activities team are constantly striving to mentally and physically stimulate those we support by organising group and individual social events for anyone and everyone to participate in. There are regular outings in the minibus to nearby places of interest, including the local theatre, as well as visits from Pat dogs, musicians and entertainers. We also host bingo, quiz and knitter natter afternoons that we encourage relatives and the local community to attend. Our Gentleman's Club is also open to non-residents every Thursday afternoon from 2:30pm, join us for a tipple of your choice, we have plenty of snacks and chats. For the ladies, our beauty salon provides; hairdressing and nail pampering, you too can enjoy a drink and some well-deserved 'me' time. Activities are one of the most important aspects of a care home, so it is essential that our team are dedicated to ensuring that residents are entertained, and that life at Cherry Trees is fun and active.

Carly joined Cherry Trees in March 2023. Her whole life has been working in the care sector and now as lead activity coordinator, Carly said ‘ I absolutely love my role here. I have a real passion to enrich the lives of our residents and make them as special as they can be. I really love to see the faces of our residents when we make these ideas we have come to life, it’s just a magical and rewarding job and I can honestly say I’ve found my forever home’

Life at Cherry Trees Care Home
Puzzled
We love to make sure that residents can still do the things that they enjoy. Here is one resident doing a jigsaw, which she spent all day on and wouldn’t give up till she completed it.
One-to-One Time
You just have to love these two; during a one-to-one session with a resident to keep her company, Ebony took this selfie of them, which, of course, is all the rage now she told her. Doreen loves having a chat and a cuppa whilst getting all the gossip and news about what’s going on in the world.
Care Home Open Day
Our Open Day was enjoyed by residents, families and friends. We all had a fantastic time listening to Barry Jukes singing in the afternoon in our lovely courtyard. The weather was great; the sun was shining and the residents loved it. We also had a BBQ, which was prepared by Chef, Claire.
Bollywood
Jessica, one of our volunteers, and resident, Dorothy, enjoyed watching the Bollywood belly dancers. They even wore hats and jigged away to the music. All the residents really enjoyed the show and Dorothy even asked them when they were coming again.
Arts & Crafts
Residents enjoyed an arts & crafts session with Ebony, one of our fantastic carers; they painted a beach painting for our beach-themed corridor, which looks fantastic!
Billy Elliot
We recently took some residents out to see Billy Elliot at the Hippodrome in Birmingham for one of our minibus trips out. More are planned soon as they are always an enjoyable event for all.
