Activities at Chorleywood Beaumont Care Home
Our Activities Coordinators are constantly striving to mentally and physically stimulate those we support by organising group and individual activities for anyone and everyone to participate in. There are regular weekly outings in the minibus to nearby places of interest including the local theatre and Cathedral's as well as visits from PAT dogs, visiting zoos, musicians and entertainers. We also host evenings such as our Pizza & Quiz Night that we encourage relatives to come to. Activities are one of the most important aspects of a care home, so it is essential that our team are dedicated to ensuring that residents are entertained, and that life at Chorleywood Beaumont Care Community is fun and active.
Loredana David
I joined Barchester in November 2016 as an senior care assistant and in May 2024 I became the Activity Lead at Chorleywood Beaumont.
It is a joy to work with such a great team and nothing makes me happier to bring joy and laughter into our residents daily lives.

Life at Chorleywood Beaumont Care Home
Cornish Pasty Week
The team at Chorleywood Beaumont delivered delicious home baked Cornish pasties to The Royal Voluntary Service Lunch Club to mark Cornish Pasty Week. The Royal Voluntary Service Lunch Club in Chorleywood has been going for over 30 years and offers local people in the community a hot lunch and companionship on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of every month at the Bullsland Hall. Nick Wrapson, general manager said: “We are very proud of our community and always looking for ways to ensure we stay connected within our local community groups. Everyone likes a pasty and so we thought it was a great opportunity to show our appreciation to our neighbours and also say thank you to those that support us and volunteer with us.
A Day Out
We went to visit Chorleywood village, the cricket club and then on to a lovely nature walk leading to Christchurch for a cup of coffee and tea meeting the vicar and his lovely team.
Rowan Tree
Today we received the 6ft Rowan tree we are planting for two very important events! The first is a in memory to Willow who was our pet therapy dog at Chorleywood. Willow would come to the door after her walk and wait to be let in, she would wander up to the first floor saying good morning to residents as she headed to see her regular clients. Willow would bring so much comfort to residents and the occasional staff member who loved to see her walk through orchid walk. The second reason for planting the Rowan tree is part of the queens green canopy scheme celebrating the queens jubilee. A wonderful scheme a focus on planting sustainably, encourage planting of trees to create a legacy in honour of The Queen’s leadership of the Nation, which will benefit future generations.
Russel School performs at Chorleywood Beaumont!
Residents and staff members at Chorleywood Beaumont care home in Chorleywood enjoyed an afternoon of grins with a fabulous performance that took place at the home. Year one to six students from Russel School, led by their music teacher Christine Deeley, donned Easter Bonnets and performed a selection of classic hits including Beatle songs and a fantastic rendition of “When the Saints go Marching in.”
Residents joined in with the singing and clapped and danced along. The hospitality team at the home also provided a spread of sweet and savoury treats for guests to enjoy during the show.
Lifestyle Coordinator, Helen Abbott said, “Our residents and guests had a wonderful day singing along with the wonderful performers. We do our best to provide a wide range of activities and entertainment at Chorleywood Beaumont as part of the lifestyle enrichment programme for residents, and this was one of our favourites!”
Hilary Gullet, retired teacher and resident at Chorleywood Beaumont said “I haven’t heard some of these songs in many years. The classics never go out of style!” “It was such a wonderful afternoon and bought back fond memories of my many years of teaching at Chalfont Primary School.”
