From nurses and carers to chefs and housekeepers, staff in our home are here to deliver high quality care and services to those we support. George Appleton-Carroll
Hi, my name is George, and I am the General Manager here at Dovedale. Welcome to our website!
I have worked in the care sector for many years, and started my career as a cleaner. Over the years, I have completed numerous training courses and have had varied roles, constantly striving for an excellent standard of care for the residents I support.
I am passionate about ensuring that the residents here at Dovedale Court receive the highest standard of care whilst providing a safe and enjoyable atmosphere in their home away from home. I am also one of the home's LGBT champions, and offer sign post advice for those seeking it.

Prisca Chungu
I have been a registered nurse for over 15 years. I started my career in Zambia before moving to the UK, where I previously worked as an ICU nurse.
After moving to the UK, I have worked in care homes where I have gained valued knowledge and experience, especially for those who live with dementia. I enjoy making a difference to those we care for, bringing a smile to our residents' faces.

Janet Barnes
I have worked in the industry for an extensive period of time. I have gained a raft of knowledge throughout my years working in care and have undertaken a number of jobs and positions.
I joined Barchester in 2023 and really enjoy being part of the team. Ensuring the team and I push for the best for our residents at all times.

Adrece Richards
I have been qualified as a nurse for coming up 10 years, starting my career in the NHS.
I first started supporting Dovedale a number of years ago and made the decision to join the team permanently in 2022. I enjoy my job and work collaboratively with the team to provide the best care we possibly can for our residents.

Nicola Carroll
I have worked for Dovedale Court for nearly 13 years. I started my journey as a laundry assistant, to care assistant, then senior care assistant whilst completing my studies at university. I am now a registered mental health nurse, and I am very passionate about providing person-centred care to individuals living with dementia, how we can maintain their dignity, promote independence whilst providing a home-from-home, and creating a safe and caring place to live.
I love getting to know my patients so that I am able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team to enable finding the best ways of preventing or managing changes in behaviours that are in residents' best interest to aid in promoting a healthy and balanced well-being for the residents in my care whilst also supporting the families.

Susan Carroll
Susan is our home administrator and joined Dovedale in 2011. Susan has helped many with their search for a suitable home for their loved ones making it that little easier, and also helping them to understand all of the finances and fees. She welcomes visitors into the home and is always happy to help each person that comes through our doors.

Brian Sandham
My name is Brian, I’m the activities coordinator down here at Dovedale. I’m new to the care sector, I’ve been a photographer and photography tutor since 2004 dealing with different ages groups and abilities. I’m looking forward to putting my people skills to good use down here at Dovedale.
I might be new to the care sector but I’m super looking forward to spreading a bit of extra sunshine and cheer around the home.

Maryanne Howard
My name is Maryanne Howard, and I am the Head Chef here at Dovedale Court Joining the team in 2024. I was born and bred in Preston and chose to join the care industry as I wanted to do a job that would be both rewarding and meaningful, knowing I have made a difference to a resident's day.
This can be from having a chat to making their childhood favourite pudding that makes them smile and can make a difference to them gives me a sense of accomplishment. Outside of work, I enjoy rowing through the summer months and a good board game marathon during the winter.

Simon Curr
I started my career many years ago with an apprenticeship in plumbing and gas fitting, spending a number of years that followed as a gas engineer before undertaking 18 years with the NHS.
I completed a conversion to be an electrical engineer, which I did for 8 years. I joined Barchester in 2022 and have enjoyed my position, affectionately known as the Grandad of Dovedale. I enjoy interacting with our residents and staff and have taken up the role of Speak up champion in the home.

Care Team
Here at Dovedale Court we have a range of carers with a plethora of knowledge and experience. As a team we try and push ourselves to provide the best care we possibly can for the residents we care for.

Claire Carroll
I joined Barchester in 2023 as a care assistant and, since joining, I have been given the opportunity to become a Senior Care Assistant in the home.
I have had previous experience in the care industry after working in home care for a period of time. I enjoy my role and try every day to put a smile on our residents' faces.

Nicola Edwards
I have worked in care since I was 18 which I started in Cumbria where I was born.
I moved to Preston in 2021 when I was given the opportunity to join the team at Dovedale Court. I thoroughly enjoy working as part of the team here at Dovedale. We are one big family.
