Fairview House is conveniently located close to plenty of local amenities and is within each reach of the beautiful Dee and Don countryside. Our purpose-built home provides 24-hour nursing care for older people, including those living with dementia. Our highly skilled and compassionate staff work hard to ensure Fairview House is not an establishment, but a home, with high quality care centred around the specific needs of each resident.
The home's specialist Memory Lane Community utilises a careful blend of skills and techniques developed by leading experts in the field of dementia care, incorporating person-centred design in its use of colour and cues to help individuals navigate through the home, whilst thoughtful interior design features, such us adapted crockery and tableware assists with reminiscence. Communities are broken up into separate units with a family feel so people can feel safe and comfortable. Care is focused on independence, dignity and choice, with a person-centred approach. Staffing levels reflect the needs of residents, and people living with dementia are offered a range of activities to help preserve life skills, support interactions and retain a sense of purpose and selfhood.
Our high standards are reflected in all aspects of the home, including our hospitality and cooking. The home also has a wonderful and varied activities programme, centred around the needs and interests of residents. We provide concerts and church services every month and have daily programmes of activities, such as bingo, crafts, a beauty group and gardening. We also frequently go to coffee mornings in our local community and have regular outings in our minibus.

The care we provide is delivered in a way that promotes independence for those who live in our home. Where possible, it is important that residents are encouraged to perform daily tasks independently or with minor support. With a rich background in healthcare and a dedication to excellence, I bring extensive experience in care home management to my role at Barchester. My UK career began within the NHS in 2003, where I developed a strong foundation in healthcare before moving into care home management.
Over the years, I’ve broadened my skills and deepened my understanding of what it takes to deliver excellent care. I am passionate about creating an environment where residents receive exceptional, person-centred care tailored to their unique needs and preferences promoting their dignity and choice.
