"Carers observed my husband looked hot and was shaking temperature was very high so Docs were called. The staff during my husbands illness was excellent, They regularly checked his temperature, looked to see if he needed changed, due to sweatingm and made sure he was given drinks and liquid food. I have every confidence in his care at Fairview Thank you!"

"My father was a resident. Sadly it was only for 8 weeks but the experience changed all our lives. The care received was beyond our expectations. Nothing was too much trouble. My father suffered from dementia but he clearly loved and trusted those caring for him. Nursing staff were quick to respond to his medical needs. In his final hours I saw staff care not only for him but also my mother. We were all treated like family. The home is spotlessly clean and very welcoming."

"The lovely sping flowers at the front door makes the care home a welcoming place to visit. The staff are all so kind and thoughtful not only to my husband also to myself, family and visiting friends. Since my husband has been a resident the staff has spent time to get him back eating and drinking again. A big turn around in 5 weeks. Food is good and plenty of choice as I have stayed for lunch. To the manager and all staff a big thank you fo rall the care and I'm so happy to see a smile on my husbands face which is a big relief for me."

"Since my friends husband was admitted to Fairview House I am amazed at the improvement in his physical condition. Prior to him coming here his appetite was non-existent but now he is eating very well. He has good interactions with all staff."

"I have seen an improvement overall in the past four weeks. The homes welcoming and the staff are more friendly. The nursing staff are excellent. The corridors in the wings do not have that "distinctive" nursing home smell so often. Overall, quite happy with the care being provided."

"The entrance home is secure and always 1 or 2 members of staff at the reception desk with a warm greeting on arrival and acknowledgement when leaving. Carers are excellent with Dad chatting with him and continuing support for him when he has been low this month, not eating and drinking very little and supporting my sister and I. Laundry does an excellent job washing 101 residents' clothes and delivering them back within a couple of days. The cleaning staff are always busy on the floor and rooms. Nurses are always available to explain about care and listen if I have any concerns and go act on them. The chef does a grand job."

"Had a party for Mother's birthday, excellent lunch followed by a birthday cake and offered supper after as well which was a nice surprise. A very enjoyable day for my mother and the family. So would like to thank all the staff for their efforts."

"Highly recommend this home, it's been a godsend for my family, taking Mum into the home who's got dementia, she gets all the help she needs, place is perfect, rooms are well furnished, meals are fantastic if there's nothing they like, they go out their way and make them something, and the staff can't be any more helpful, lots for them to do activities everyday good way to get them to meet new friends, Mum's been in since Dec 2023 but she's settling in."

"My brother is settling into Fairview well. He has been here a few weeks now and is enjoying the food and enjoying the company of others. There is plenty of entertainment going on throughout the day. He is also enjoying his own space in his room with staff popping in and out to see if he requires anything. All in all, we are happy with his care so far."

"The Memory Lane staff have one of the most difficult jobs. One can only praise them all for their patience and care. Our father is not the easiest person and difficult to manage. We greatly appreciate Fairview's approach and understanding. Definitely five-star."

"Since moving in in October 2023, my father has settled in well. The nurses, carers, admin staff have all been professional, approachable and always go above and beyond. Have to mention one of the carers, in particular - she is always so happy to help and nothing's too much but have to say, all the carers are friendly and helpful."

"Always been made welcome when we visit. Visiting as Mother's birthday. We booked a meal for three of us, it was delicious. The home provided a lovely chocolate cake. Can't thank everyone enough. My mum loves staying here."

"My Mum is a resident in Barchester Fairview House Care Home. She has been here for over two years now. In the past few months most of the home has been refurbished painted, papered, carpeted, new furniture, new decor. It is looking, smelling and feeling fresh and new. There are now 4 activities organisers producing up to 60 varied activities per month! (I enjoy coming in to see what's on next). The carers, nurses, the maintenance, housekeeping, laundry staff, the administration team handle up to 100 residents with many and varied special needs. Over the past 2 years I have got to know many of them and I keep discovering deeper layers of skills and sensitivities. They are very dedicated and committed to enriching everyone's lives. They make me feel more than just a visitor, more part of the team, part of the family. Generally those who work in the care sector are undervalued and underpaid. I see them as heroes in our society. Well done. Thanks. Keep up the good work!"

"Dad went to Barchester Fairview House Care Home for respite last August and settled in so well he became a resident. He is very independent and all the staff are so supportive helping and encouraging him when needed. The level of care, activities and cleanliness are of a very high standard and any concerns are dealt with immediately. Overall, Fairview has a great atmosphere, is very welcoming and all the staff ensure that residents and their families are treated with compassion and respect."

"Since Mum went into the home 4 years ago I have nothing but praise for every member of staff. Everyone has been brilliant. Also, all staff keeps you updated with phone calls or meetings. Now we are getting to see our loved one they have been brilliant. Everything is spotless. They all work hard to make sure you're safe visiting. Very happy I chose this home."

"I was unable to continue to live independently at home. I needed 24 hours support to enable me to leave hospital. I have a good relationship with the nurses and carers who look after me, I enjoy the interactions and discussions we have. I cannot praise Fairview enough."

"In the last 12 months, the care within Fairview has improved even more than previous years (if that was possible). This is due to an extremely low turnover of staff and management and a noticeable higher degree of training and implementation of memory lane improvement which has been done to a very high standard. "The level of attention and care Dad received while living at Fairview was second to none. The staff were friendly, approachable and nothing was ever a problem. In my opinion, they treated Dad like he was one of their own family, the level of dignity and respect was just amazing. I remember the first day Dad arrived and how friendly the staff were making him feel really welcome. It always stuck in my mind how they all knew his name and he was barely through the door again reflecting how good the staff were. Dad was always clean, shaved and smartly dressed and the rooms were always cleaned to a high standard. Thank you all for looking after Dad, I will always appreciate it."

"My sister has health issues that make her reliant on the staff for her every-day-care. It is important to us as a family that her medical needs are met. I am extremely impressed with how the staff are with her, she is always saying how beautiful and kind they are and so attentive to her needs. The food she says is very good. There were some issues with her oxygen that the nursing staff went out of their way to rectify with external sources. I personally have felt very welcome on my frequent visits and all the management are very open and available to talk to. The manager has been extremely helpful and made me feel comfortable to come forward if I have any concerns of any kind. The suggestions I would make is to have some air fresheners, as I’m aware it can be very difficult to keep on top of odours with so many elderly people. Also, the garden area could be really nice for the non-smoking residents if it was made more accessible from the dining room."

"Sadly my grandfather spent his last 5 days of his life here. However, the staff on the day of his death and the days prior were outstanding. On the day of my grandfather's death, the nursing staff were excellent and kept him comfortable and made sure the members of my family were taken care of. We were given refreshments and even lunch. The staff, including the manager, came into visit us and made sure we were all ok. Most importantly the staff treated my grandfather with dignity, even up to his last 30 minutes - by applying cream to his skin, re-positioning him in his bed and making him comfortable, it made his passing that bit easier for all of my family. I cannot comment on the care outwith what I saw, but going in and out of the building for a few days, I saw plenty of smiling faces from the residents and staff. Thank you to all the staff."

"I was fortunate to have my Aunt spend her last five months at Fairview House Care Home where she experienced loving care and attention from all of the staff and management, and her stay switched from a lonely existence to one of constant companionship that she developed with both staff and management. I found the staff competent, pleasant and cheery in nature and very attentive both day and night, and very importantly the food was excellent and I was able to judge this personally as visitors were generously given meals and snacks if they were present at the appropriate meal times. In summing up I would thoroughly recommend Fairview House Care Home to anyone who wishes their loved ones to be safe, happy and very well looked after and to participate in the many activities that are organised by the home for residents."

"The staff at Fairview Nursing Home are simply marvellous. My uncle is a resident, and the care he receives is second to none. During this difficult time especially, the staff have kept in regular contact, keeping myself, and the family informed regarding his health and well-being. They sent letters every couple of weeks, to keep us updated on Covid and the steps they had, and are taking to protect all residents, staff and visitors. This has been extremely reassuring during these stressful times. The staff even arranged video calls, so I could see my uncle, and he could see me, which was so thoughtful and kind. The staff always find the time to talk to relatives regarding their kin, despite having very busy schedules, for which I’m extremely grateful. Thank you to all staff at Fairview - you are outstanding, and a credit to the group."

"We cannot thank Fairview House enough for all they did for my mum for the last two years of her life. We felt the nurses, carers and staff became her sons and daughters as I know she felt loved by them all. It was so hard for us not to get in to see her due to COVID in the months before she passed, but every day we knew she was safe, warm, and in the loving care of Fairview. Each and every member of staff went over and above their duties every step of the way. The cards we received from my mum, with the help provided by the staff during the COVID lockdown, will be cherished forever. The kindness and friendship shown to myself and my family was fantastic too, and they all became an extended family. When we are COVID-free, I will be going in for a coffee to again meet up with the staff. The entertainment and offerings provided put a constant smile on my mum’s face, and mine too. Can, and will, highly recommend."

"My mum has been in Fairveiw House for over three years and I can honestly say that she is treated very well, with the COVID 19 which has given everyone new strengths. The fulltime activity has been fabulous FaceTime and visits so well organised she is a treasure and to the staff for all the phone calls keeping us up to date keep up the good work."

"Friendly approachable carers, management, all staff. My father's room is very spacious and airy, could not fault the upkeep of the room. He is very happy in the home and loves all his regular carers and nurses. Recently have got to know the activities team who have "bent over backwards" to make the garden visits a hassle-free and enjoyable time. Very well organised. Nothing but praises to your team and management."
