Mel Shearer

General Manager

Hi, my name is Mel and I am the General Manager here at Fairview House. Welcome to our website!

Thank you for taking the time to look further into what we have to offer to you or your loved one. Here is an opportunity to look at some of our staff team in the home, who all play a vital role in day-to-day life.

With a rich background in healthcare and a dedication to excellence, I bring extensive experience in care home management to my role at Barchester. My UK career began within the NHS in 2003, where I developed a strong foundation in healthcare before moving into care home management.

Over the years, I’ve broadened my skills and deepened my understanding of what it takes to deliver excellent care. I am passionate about creating an environment where residents receive exceptional, person-centred care tailored to their unique needs and preferences promoting their dignity and choice.

I believe each resident deserves a warm supportive atmosphere that feels like home and I am committed to leading my team to make this a reality every day.

Izabela Anghel

Clinical Lead

Izabela has been a much valued and cherished member of the Fairview family since 2019. she speaks about her time as being a paramedic in Italy before coming to the UK and becoming a Care Assistant at Fairview House. 

Since then Isabela has continued to grow in the home and now holds the postilion as clinical lead. 

She speaks with great passion about wishing to care for others and making a positive difference to the residents lives within the home. 

Away from the home, Izabela loves to spend time with her family and is a huge of literature, with romance being her favourite genre.

Karen Barrett

Administrator

Hi, my name is Karen, and I am the administrator here at Fairview House.

I deal with all aspects of the administration of the home to ensure it runs smoothly, from invoicing, ordering, recruitment, setting up contracts, to manning the telephones, there's never a dull day!

Artur Waberski

Acting Head Chef

Artur takes immense pleasure in creating delicious and nutritious meals for our residents at Fairview House. 

He enjoys taking the time getting to know our residents and catering our menus to their likes and meals which they will greatly enjoy.

Krzysztof Dabrowski

Head of Maintenance

Hi there, my name is Krzysztof and i'm proud to be the head of maintenance at Fairview House. Starting my role in 2023. 

I take great pride in my role, ensuring that the home runs smoothly and any problems are dealt with efficiently and effectively. it's important to me that the home maintains it's high standards ensuring everyone feels safe and at home.

Away from the home i enjoy wild camping, there is something very special about disconnecting from the hustle and bustle of city life and immersing yourself in the beauty of nature.

Elaine Elrick

Head Housekeeper

Elaine joined the Barchester Family as Head Housekeeper in January 2022. 

Leading a team of housekeeping staff, Elaine ensures that every room and living space is maintained to the highest standards.

Elaine loves interacting with the residents and helping create a warm atmosphere in the home.

Elaine has a vast amount of experience in the hospitality industry ranging from; small hotels and previous care homes. 

In her spare time she enjoys long walks with her Golden Retriever, Millie and ironing!

Jade Brady

Administration Assistant

Jade Joined the Fairview House family in the summer of 2024 and quickly became a much valued member of the team within the home. 

She speaks about how much she enjoys being the first friendly face that visitors see when they enter the home as well as getting to know and spend time with our residents and their families. 

Away from work, Jade greatly enjoys going for long walks with her four dogs, socialising with her friends, watching a good film on Netflix. 

 

Yvonne Lorrie

Trainee Care Practioner

Yvonne is proud to be training towards her Care Practiioner role and is much valued member of our homes care team. 

She has been at the home since 2022 and Yvonne speaks proudly about she passion she has for wanting to make a positive difference in our residents lives, spending time with not only the residents but also supporting their families. 

Away from Fairview House, Yvonne loves to travel and speaks with great delight about visiting the city of Venice.

 

Melanie Henderson

Senior Carer

Melanie joined the Fairview Family in 2024 and quickly became a much thought of and highly valued member of the team, joining the home as one of our senior carers.

Melanie is looking forward to getting to know our residents, their loved ones and supporting them on their journey as part of the Fairview family. 

Away from the home, Melanie loves to spend time with her children and grandchildren

Holly Fraser

Senior Carer

Holly has been a part of Barchester since 2013 and a member of the Fairview family since 2024 

She speaks with passion about the opportunity for career growth in the company and working towards becoming a nurse. 

Holly also speaks warmly about the sense of family between her colleagues and our residents.

Away from the home Holly enjoys building PCs, gaming, cycling, dancing, acrobatics and spending quality time with her doggy 'Bagel' the beagle.

Jenna Greig

Hostess

Jenna has been a much valued and cherished member of the care team since 2020 and works as part of the team of our wonderful carers. 

She speaks with great warmth about how much she enjoys caring for her residents, which she adds has been her calling. Jenna adds that getting to know the residents is a great privilege.

Away from the home Jenna is a keen footballer and she likes to volunteer in local street sports.

Leira Macalimo

Hostess

Leira has been a part of the Fairview family since 2017 and is a part of our wonderful hostess team. 

She speaks fondly about how she enjoys spending time with the resdients, getting to know them and their families. 

Away from the home, she enjoys taking part in playing netball, basketball, going to the movies and baking

Nicholas Torsabo

Shift Coordinator

Nicholas has been a part of the Fairview family since 2023 and is a deeply caring individual who after taking care of a family member, saw care as his calling and wished to help others.

He takes great joy in making our residents happy, making them feel at home and comfortable.

Nicholas is a big music fan and adores the songs of yesteryear, highlighting Neil Diamond as a personal favourite.

Alicia Bailey

Care Assistant

Alicia has been a part of Fairview House since 2023 and quickly became a much cherished member of the team. 

She speaks highly of the great community which is shared within Fairview House, the lovely atmosphere shared with the residents and she takes great pride in giving back to the senior community, 

Outside of the home, Alicia loves to dance, spend time with her friends and family including her lovely dog, Marlo.

Elle Mullins

Care Assistant

Elle joined the Fairview family in the summer of 2024 and quickly became a much thought of member of the team and makes up a part of the homes wonderful care assistants. 

She speaks warmly about how much she enjoys being a part of the team at the home and is enjoying getting to know our residents and their families. 

Away from the home, Elle is looking forward to finishing her degree in psychology and counselling. 

Olagoke Omolodun

Care Assistant

Olagoke has been a part of the Fairview family since 2023 and makes up part of the team of the homes much cherished carers. 

He speaks with passion about the opportunities for career growth in the home,how much he is looking forward to beginning his level 3 diploma, the sense of inclusion in the home. 

Away from the home Olagoke is a passionate artist and enjoys painting, he speaks about playing football for a Nigerian football team and is a huge Manchester City supporter

Modupe

Care Assistant

Modupe joined the Fairview family in spring 2023 and is a member of our wonderful team of care assistants. 

She speaks with warmth within Fairview, between the colleagues and the residents and says she has learnt so much life experience from getting to know the residents of the home. 

In her spare time, Modupe enjoys sports, in particular football and is an Arsenal fan, she also loves to play volleyball and reading.

Blessing Folorunsho

Care Assistant

Blessing has been a part of the Fairview family since 2022 and is a much valued member in our team of wonderful care assistants. 

She speaks about the warm atmosphere and family feel of the home adding that she enjoys bringing hope and love to her residents wishing to enrich their lives.

Outside of the home, Blessing is a creative fashion designer, she loves to sing and is part of a choir. she speaks with great passion for her love of dancing as not just physical exercise but also for the benefits of her mental health.

Joy Esho

Care Assistant

Joy has been a member of the Fairview family since 2021 and is a part of our wonderful team of carers. 

She takes great pleasure and satisfaction from assisting and helping our senior residents and feels fulfilled when they they share a laugh and a good joke together. 

Away from the home, Joy enjoys seeing her friends and family and reading historical books.

Chloe Garvie

Activities Coordinator

Chloe has been a part of the Fairview House the since spring of 2024 and quickly became a much valued of the team, She began her time in the home as a Care Assistant before finding her calling as the an Activities Coordinator. 

She speaks with warmth and enthusiasm about how the home fills her with purpose, how much she enjoys spending time with the residents, making them smile, getting to know them and knowing that everyday she is making a difference enriching the residents lives. 

Away from the home Chloe enjoys knitting, going for walks and hiking.

Veronica

Activities Coordinator

Veronica has been a part of the Fairview House family since 2022 and enjoys her role as part of the homes wonderful activities team. 

She speaks with great enthusiasm about how rewarding her role is and takes great joy from enriching our residents lives. Veronica says that it's just the little things which makes a residents day, such as giving them company over a cup of tea and having a natter. 

Away from the home, Veronica enjoys spending time with her family, particularly her grandchildren. 

Cecilia Clark

Activities Coordinator

Cecilia joined the Fairview family in February 2023 and is a much valued member of the home as part of the Fairview House life enrichment team

Originating from South Africa, Cecilia came to Scotland with her husband. 

She greatly enjoys spending time with the residents, she speaks fondly of how much she enjoys enriching the lives of our residents and taking part in the variety of trip's out with the residents which she thoroughly enjoys. 

Outside of the home, Cecilia is a very creative person, she enjoys painting, crocheting, knitting and outdoor pursuits.

Perpatua Fernandes

Housekeeper

Perpetua is a member of our much valued team of housekeepers. 

She enjoys getting to know our residents and their families and takes great pride in her role ensuring the residents home is kept at the highest of standards. 

Lisa Bridges

Housekeeper

Lisa has been a part of the team at Fairview House since 2022 and is a part of our team of much valued housekeepers. 

she speaks warmly about she enjoys getting to know the residents, relatives and the diverse  culture of the Fairview family.

Activities Team

Chloe, Cecilia and Veronica make up our fantastic Activities Team here at Fairview House.

They develop and oversee an active living programme for each resident, which encourages mobility, social contact, independence and fun. Each and every person can thrive and live to their full potential with no day ever being the same. They bring great enthusiasm and spark to the home and have one passion, which is to deliver an amazing and vibrant activities programme to cater to all tastes and abilities.
