Activities at Glenroyd Care Home
Here at the Glenroyd our specialist activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians. Everyone is different and gets pleasure from different things and here at Glenroyd we understand that and therefore try to provide a programme of activity that is tailored to individuals needs. We do this by gathering information and life history work and using that information to feed into our activities schedule. We also encourage relatives to join with activities and events as often as they can.
Agata Prendota
Hi, my name is Agata Prendota and I am the activities coordinator here at Glenroyd. I have worked at Glenroyd since 2014 and in April 2022 transferred to activities. I developed a strong relationship with many of our residents and their families. This has helped me to create a tailored activities program focused on maximizing everyone’s wellbeing, independence, and social engagement.
It is my goal to create a stimulating environment that enables to provide imaginative, fun, and motivational activities that suit every interest and ability. My infectious enthusiasm and creative approach are the key to inspire our residents and staff to get involved in activities both within the home and in the local community.
I am passionate about my role and especially the challenge of coming up with new ways to engage as many residents as possible in daily activities.

Life at Glenroyd Care Home
Garden Centre Visit
We enjoyed a trip out to Dobbies Garden Centre and had a look around all the flower gardens and all the outdoor houses. We also had a picnic in the outdoor area, as the weather was perfect outside.
Eyes Down
We host regular bingo games each week, which everyone loves. Resident, Harold, said he was the ‘Bingo King’, as he won 3 times in a row. We always have such a great time during bingo sessions.
Reminiscence Session
We had an amazing reminiscence session, which was hosted by Jimmy O’Donnell. It brought back lots of memories for residents; it was a very amazing and special session filled with joy.
Summer Fair
We hosted our Summer Fair recently, and it was amazing! We had lots of fun with our tombola stall, cake stall and our entertainers; we had a double act performance, and then a solo artist, who was fabulous! We all really had a fun day and shared this with our friends and families too!
Birthday Shopping
We celebrated Colin’s birthday with a shopping trip and, to top it off, Colin is a huge fan of sweet treats, so we also enjoyed a visit to Mr Simm's Sweet Shop, where we bought a selection of different treats. It really made Colin’s birthday special for him.
Armed Forces Day
We celebrated by telling stories, doing arts and crafts and also had a special trip to Blackpool Football Club for their Armed Forces memory Tour. The day was amazing; we had a full tour of the football ground and each department had a story relating to the armed forces. Peter himself was in the forces and is a huge fan of football. He really enjoyed reminiscing and listening to all the stories that were shared.
