A beautiful celebration unfolded as our residents came together to honour and cherish the incredible mothers in their lives on this special day. The conservatory served as a backdrop for a day filled with love, laughter, and heartfelt moments that will forever be etched in our memories.

Our lovely ladies were truly spoiled with an array of flowers and sweets, each gift a token of appreciation for the love and care they have bestowed upon their families and loved ones throughout the years. The air was filled with joy and gratitude as they shared stories and reminisced about the invaluable role of mothers in shaping their lives.

Some of our residents had the opportunity to venture out for a meal with their nearest and dearest, creating new memories and strengthening the bonds of family and friendship. We had a magical day as we came together to celebrate Eric's 90th birthday!

Amidst the warmth of friendship and the joy of music, our residents gathered to honour Eric in the most special way. Our talented head chef crafted a delicious cake that was as delightful to the eyes as it was to the taste buds, symbolising the sweetness of the occasion.

With glasses of wine clinking and laughter filling the air, our residents swayed and danced to the nostalgic tunes of the greatest hits from the 60s, creating a symphony of happiness that echoed through the halls of our home. Here's to many more years of happiness and wonderful memories ahead!

Meet Bridget, one of our cherished residents at Glenroyd, whose heartfelt wish to go out to the shop and pick a special present for her beloved mother, who also resides with us, for Mother's Day was fulfilled in the most beautiful way.

Bridget approached our dedicated team with a sparkle in her eyes and a hopeful request to embark on a shopping adventure, and without hesitation, we made it our mission to turn her dream into a reality. The excitement in the air was palpable as Bridget set off for the market, filled with anticipation and love in her heart.

As she carefully selected the perfect gift for her dear mother, Bridget’s smile radiated pure joy and gratitude. She expressed how much the outing meant to her, describing it as a lovely experience that she will always treasure. But the surprises didn't end there - Bridget also picked out a special outfit that she plans to wear on Sunday, intending to surprise her mother with a heart-warming gesture that will surely melt hearts.

Bridget's act of love and thoughtfulness serves as a reminder of the boundless beauty that resides in simple gestures and the profound impact of fulfilling someone's heartfelt wish. Our residents had an amazing time as they hopped on the minibus and took a trip to Fleetwood Beach. The sea breeze was refreshing, and the joy on their faces was truly heart-warming.

As we arrived at Fleetwood Beach, it was a sight to behold. The vast expanse of golden sand and the seagulls soaring overhead created a picturesque scene that our residents thoroughly enjoyed. For many of them, it was a trip down memory lane, as they reminisced about their own experiences at the beach, creating new memories to cherish.

After some delightful strolls along the promenade, taking in the beautiful coastal views, we headed to a charming café where our residents indulged in some well-deserved treats. They savoured the aroma of freshly brewed coffee and tucked into delicious cookies, all while sharing stories and fond recollections of their time spent in Fleetwood. The laughter and camaraderie filled the air, creating an atmosphere of joy and warmth.

Residents and staff celebrated all things Irish for St Patrick’s Day this week. The home was decorated with shamrocks and everyone dressed in green to mark the day. Held on March 17th, Saint Patrick's Day actually observes the death of St Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland, but the day has come to be a huge celebration of Irish heritage and culture.

Staff and residents at the home marked the day by making shamrock decorations, learning some Irish words and phrases during the quiz, and having a party with live music. Head chef Ella prepared a fantastic Irish spread with traditional Irish dishes such as boiled bacon, Irish stew, and black pudding all washed down with Guinness or an Irish whiskey.

What a flipping fantastic Pancake Day we had at Glenroyd!

Our residents had an absolutely delightful time celebrating Pancake Day by getting hands-on in the conservatory and whipping up their very own delicious pancakes from scratch. The joy and laughter that filled the air as they measured out ingredients, mixed the batter, and carefully flipped their pancakes was truly heart-warming to witness.

Not only did our residents get to enjoy the tasty fruits of their labour, but they also took the opportunity to learn some fascinating facts about Pancake Day and its traditions. From the history of Shrove Tuesday to the significance of indulging in pancakes before the start of Lent, our residents soaked up a wealth of knowledge while having a great time together.

The best part, of course, was savouring the mouth-watering results of their efforts. With a delightful array of toppings to choose from, including classic lemon and sugar, indulgent chocolate spread, everyone's pancake preferences were catered to. The smiles on their faces as they tucked into their personalised creations were absolutely priceless.

It's moments like these that truly capture the spirit of community and togetherness that we cherish here at Glenroyd Care Home. Seeing our residents come together, share in the joy of creating something delicious, and make precious memories is what makes our home such a special place.
