Activities at Kingsland House Care Home
Kingsland House have a variety of activities that our residents help us choose. Celebrating Life in our home is jovial and fun and from our weekly delivered activity sheet, our residents can chose exactly what they want to join in with.
Our activities range from exercise classes, gardening, arts and crafts, games to food-fun clubs. We also offer our in house church services, our own home cinema, our mobile pub - The Kingsland Tavern, visiting Pat Dogs, musical entertainers, minibus outings, theme days and birthday celebrations. For those residents being nursed in their rooms we have one to one activities sessions.
At Kingsland House we believe that activities are hugely important to stimulate and uplift, and getting to know our residents interests and lifestyle choices assist our activities team in creating events and activities to suit their expressed wishes and capabilities. We also encourage our residents' families and friends to join in with as much as they can to make Kingsland House a loving family atmosphere.
Mo Clark
I've been at Kingsland House as the Activities Coordinator since April 2024 having previously worked in a similar role since 2020.

Life at Kingsland House Care Home
'70s Day
A fun-filled day was had by the residents and staff here at Kingsland with 1970's food, drinks, music & dress. The Bay City Rollers even showed up for a guest appearance.
Pamper Afternoon
Residents at Kingsland House recently enjoyed a pamper afternoon at the home. The residents had a nice relaxing afternoon and enjoyed the pampering session returning to Kingsland House.
Harvest Festival
Residents and staff members at Kingsland House celebrated the Harvest Festival by making salt dough fruit along with homemade bread, and a beautiful display for the whole home to appreciate.
The occasion was also marked with singing of hymns, light refreshments, sharing stories. which really helped everyone at the home get into the spirit of the festival.
World Mental Health Day
This year’s World Mental Health Day, on 10 October, came at a time when daily lives have changed considerably as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
We have all been either reading or listening to the stories about residents in care homes being isolated from their families.
So on this day here at Kingsland House, we wanted to make the news a little more positive. We made this day special by doing a showing of a video of family and friends sending their love to Kingsland House residents.
Memory Lane
The leisurely stroll took place between Brighton Pier and Goring Gap on Sunday 20th September. This was a 13 mile walk and took 5 hours and 10 minutes to complete. The staff enjoyed stepping out in aid of a charity that means a lot to those pounding the pavements.
The amount raised stands at £510.00, and there is more being donated for this great cause daily.
Summer Fête
We did not want the residents to miss out on our summer fête, so on Wednesday 9th September, we had an internal fête. Residents loved the day, with cake, bottle stalls, and tombolas. They also liked the staff getting soaked in the stocks.
