"My partner has been a resident at Lawton Rise for twenty months now. He always appears settled and trusting of the staff. I personally always feel welcomed and it's good to have a friendly chat with the staff and other residents. The meals always look appetizing. The residents' clothes are well cared for. I would recommend Lawton Rise to others."

"My grandfather has been a resident at Lawton Rise for a number of years. During my time visiting him, I have seen four changes in management and I must say that the current management team is the most approachable and most willing to listen to any concerns. They will usually respond to any concerns that I have, regardless of how minor they are. My grandfather has always been clean, well cared for and always appears happy. He has told me he likes the food and will eat every bite of his meals. The home let me know what is happening and keep me up to date with any incidents or changes to his care. I cant praise the staff enough - they are always friendly and welcoming. I enjoy talking with the staff nearly as much as talking to my grandfather."

"As the grandson of one of the residents in this home, I would like to say I have found not one fault with this home, the management or the care teams. During such a difficult time for all of us, this care home has kept my family and myself in the know with everything regarding my Grandad. We have been happy knowing he is safe, well and looked after. The last few months have not been easy for ourselves, for the staff or the residents and we had no doubt they were doing everything in their power to keep everyone’s loved ones safe. It gave us great peace of mind knowing he was in the right place. Thank you Lawton Rise."

"We have been delighted with how well Dad has been cared for by all the staff at Lawton Rise. The change in him is remarkable; he is happy and smiling. The staff have been kind and caring and very responsive to Dad's needs. They make him smile and have a joke with him which is lovely to see. Dad struggles to communicate with his dementia and the staff take time to help him. The home is bright, clean and has a lovely vibe. The residents are encouraged to join in a range of activities and there are loads of different things happening every week. I can wholeheartedly say this care home is exceptional."

"My mum came here on an assessment bed from a hospital 20 miles away due to her worsening dementia and increase in hospital admissions due to falls. I was so worried that she wasn't on the doorstep but soon realised after conversations with the home manager, who put me at ease and showed great empathy for my situation, that she would, at last, be safe for a while. My darling mum has now been in the home for 6 weeks and is a different person. I will be forever grateful to the whole team at Lawton Rise for their dedicated and compassionate work helping my mum and the other lovely people living their lives with dementia. An incredible place which I couldn't have wished harder to exist! Thank you from the bottom of mine, my families but most importantly, my mum's heart."

"Staff approachable - staff dressed smartly, always have the time to speak to relatives. Good variety of food for residents. Bedroom is bright and airy. Staff offer good interaction with residents on social afternoons outside. Suncream and cool drinks in good supply. Thank you."

"All the staff at Lawton Rise Care Home are unfailingly welcoming, smiling and cheerful. If a problem does arise it is immediately listened to and addressed at the time, if possible, or referred to the appropriate person. The earlier general refurbishment has made all the difference to the more homely feel and standard of surroundings. We look forward to the continuation of the plan. There are times when unfamiliar staff assigned to the unit is unsettling for the residents."

"I have visited my grandad at the care home, several times and not consistently at the same time. The home was always very clean and tidy and the staff was very welcoming. It gives you such ease to enter a strange place but feel so welcome. My grandad's room looked amazing with all his pictures in place and so homely. I would recommend Lawton Rise to anyone."

"We were welcomed immediately by a fabulous member of staff. She took us to see our aunt. Then, she found a beautiful empty sitting room where we could chat. She even brought tea, coffee and biscuits, which was so lovely. Our aunt is very happy! The facility is beautiful, clean and immaculate. Congratulations."

"My mum was in Lawton Rise for 4 years she passed away in November 2022. The care she had while in there was exceptional the staff were brilliant and nothing was too much trouble. They treat their residents as if they were their own family. They always put a smile on Mum's face, we knew she was well taken care of, you worry about them but we knew she was fine. There was always something going on to entertain them, music afternoons singers would come in. The staff always kept me well informed on how she was. The staff are absolutely brilliant, one member of staff was mum's main carer, you start off as strangers and end up being part of one big family can not praise them enough."

"A very good afternoon. My wife has been a resident of Lawton Rise for over five years. I find the home to be very well run, and from the management down, very helpful and most obliging. If I have any problems, they are great at sorting out any problems, not that I can remember any such occasions arising for a long time. I would like to praise four members firstly, the manager, secondly the assistant manager, thirdly and last but not least is the administration lady, but I must say all the staff are without a doubt first class."

"The care the Lawton Rise carers give my father-in-law is outstanding, each and every day he is looked after 100%. He knows each and every carer's name. From the management, nurses, senior carers, night staff, the care to me is excellent. As long as my father-in-law is happy that's all that matters to me and my family. "Our mum has been a resident at Lawton Rise for a number of years. There is a variety of good food for residents, but sadly our mum’s dementia has got a lot worse and now she does not eat much. Bedroom is bright, airy and warm. Staff offer good interaction with Mum, as she is very active, even at 89. Lawton Rise usually respond to any concerns that I have, regardless of how minor they are. My mum has always been clean and well cared for. The home lets me know what is happening and keeps me up to date with any incidents or changes to her care, they are always friendly and welcoming."

"Barchester Lawton Rise Care Home has given my father the best care imaginable since April 2023. They've made my dad feel home from home and have easily catered for his complex dementia needs. His medication has been regulated successfully and the services offered such as artwork, Christmas cards and guest singers are exemplary. Moreover, the 3-course meals given every day are 4-star standard."

"My mum was in Barchester Lawton Rise Care Home from August 2019 until her recent death due to her deteriorating dementia. I can honestly say that my family and I are truly blessed to have had such committed, professional and caring staff take care of Mum. Communication throughout her stay has been excellent and it gave me peace of mind to know that she was so happy and settled. The staff all work so well as a team, like cogs of a wheel. I can't express my thanks and gratitude to them enough for making both Mum and our family so welcome and for taking such excellent care of her. I will continue to recommend Lawton Rise for anyone seeking care for their loved one."

"The care and compassion given by all of the staff at Barchester Lawton Rise Care Home goes above and beyond. The staff always take the time to chat and offer anything needed even though they are always on the go. From entering the home, it is a warm, welcoming beautiful place, there is always refreshments offered on arrival, it is very clean and well maintained. If I ever have to ask the staff about anything, they always take the time to answer fully and confidently and make sure I fully understand and am happy with their response. We always look forward to visiting days and can rest easily knowing that everyone working at Lawton has the well being of all residents as their priority. "Absolutely outstanding care received by my mother from a wonderful, caring, compassionate, professional team. The transfer from home to permanent care was smooth and efficient, we were kept updated every step of the way and supported throughout this procedure. The staff, as a whole, are truly amazing. I knew, without a doubt, my mother was very much cared for as if she was their own parent. The environment is relaxed and wholesome with many activities for the residents to enjoy. Even though my mother was in late-stage dementia, I know she was contented in their care. They definitely deserve some sort of reward for their kindness and professionalism. I can't thank them enough."

"Mum spent the last few weeks of her life at Barchester Lawton Rise Care Home in Goldenhill, following a few months in hospital. The care she received at Lawton Rise was outstanding in every way. Despite having dementia and complex physical needs, the staff got to know Mum very well and they were exemplary in their care of both her physical and emotional needs. Sadly, her health issues resulted in her death but as a family, we are all confident that Mum could not have been anywhere better at the end of her life. Every single member of staff at the home went above and beyond our expectations and not only did they care for Mum at the end of her life with compassion, they also showed immense empathy towards us, her family, as we came to terms with Mum's deteriorating health. We cannot praise them highly enough and thank them for making the last few weeks of Mum's life as comfortable as possible. Thank you, all of you."

"My mum was in Bachester Lawton Rise for 20 months. She was always clean, tidy and well dressed. She passed away in October 2024. The nursing staff and carers provided professional excellent care for the whole of her stay. The staff always kept me well informed on her progress. All the staff are caring, compassionate and kind. When I visited, the administration staff were always warm and welcoming. The housekeeping staff do a marvellous job with laundry and keeping the home well maintained and clean. The catering staff provide good quality food and make residents a cake for birthday celebrations. A big thank you to all the staff."

"My family and I were extremely impressed with the level of care given to my wife while in Barchester Lawton Rise Care Home. The staff, from front of house to carers and nurses, were excellent. We knew my wife was well looked after. There were regular updates on food and fluid intake and of any health issues that occurred. My family and I were looked after as well when there. I would recommend this home to anyone who wants to see their relative treated with care, respect and dignity. Unable to comment on activities for patients as my wife was bedbound and unable to take part. Otherwise, excellent."

"I visit my sister at least three times a week. I always find everyone involved in the running of Lawton Rise very helpful and caring. "I am very impressed with the care my husband is receiving, the staff are very approachable and so kind. There is entertainment every afternoon. The staff in charge of activities work so hard, making sure the residents have an enjoyable time. Also, the nurses are brilliant, they always phone if there are any problems. My husband is well looked after. If I ever go into care, Lawton Rise is where I would like to go."

"I would not hesitate in recommending Lawton Rise Nursing Home for anyone suffering from dementia. My uncle had dementia but was otherwise quite healthy. There was always a lot of staff and nurses available and his every need was taken care of, nothing being too much trouble. There was always daily entertainment and activities provided which the staff encourage all the residents to attend. I would like to thank everyone concerned for their help whilst my uncle resided at Lawton Rise, they all do a great job!"

"Since my wife arrived at Lawton Rise she has been very well looked after. The standard of care has been excellent and the staff have been outstanding in their care for my wife and us as a family. The room has been of a high standard for cleanliness. My wife has been well fed and drinks have been freely available to us all. My wife has received a high standard of medical care with prompt visits to the doctors and hospital. The gardens were a great help in the hot summer days being safe and secure. In conclusion, Lawton Rise as a home is outstanding."

"I feel that all of the staff have got my father's interest at the front of their list at all times. They have always made me aware of any issues with his care at the earliest opportunity. The care taken to help in his day to day living is second to none if it's persuading him to eat or taking his medication. They take the time to treat him like a human being and not a number. In many respects, I feel they treat him like one of their own relatives."

"When we have visited mum is clean and well cared for. The staff have formed good relationships with her. She is non-verbal but the staff interpret mum's non-verbal communications well and she appears settled. The staff make great efforts to ensure mum's safety. They manager her diabetes well and they appear to have halted the recurrent U.T.I's she suffered previously."

"I attended Pancake Day, an excellent morning. All the staff from the kitchen, the carers and especially the entertainment coordinator did a superb job. Provided Pancakes, Crepes with fruit and sauces, nothing is too much trouble."
