Activities at Lethen Park Care Home
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

We are here to ensure that residents enjoy an environment that is both stimulating and socially active. We ensure the team knows each residents' preferences, so that we can deliver a person-centered program of events and activities. Life at Lethen Park Care Home
Messages in a bottle
The oldest message in a bottle ever found was 132 years old when it was discovered. Tonya Illman was simply walking among sand dunes in Western Australia with a friend when she discovered a very old gin bottle that she thought would be nice for her bookshelf. It was found that the bottle was dropped overboard from a ship to study Ocean currents. The vessel that dropped the message in the Indian Ocean was a German research ship called Paula.
Our residents have been having a great time creating their very own messages in a bottle this week.
Pancake Day at Lethen Park
The first day of March was busy as we marked not only St David’s Day but also Pancake Day.
Our residents had a wonderful day, filled with pancake-inspired activities, they prepared homemade pancakes and decorated them with fresh fruit, berries, syrup and chocolate. It’s safe to say they went down a treat!
It was a fun day, enjoyed by all.
International celebration of real bread!
Today we marked the annual, international celebration of real bread and the people who make it.
Over the course of the week, overseen by our chefs and activities team, we will be kneading and baking a selection of different breads over the week. From granary loaves and floury batches, sourdoughs, focaccia and chocolate delights.
Apart from tasting the delicious breads, our residents will learn interesting fact about the history of bread.
We started our week off today with a Rosemary bread and a crusty White number, lurpak and jam.
Nescafe virtual experience
We had a fabulous time joining NESCAFÉ’s virtual coffee experience. We were able to look into how they sustainably farm their coffee beans, as well as, to have a virtual tour of one of their factories all from the comfort of our home.
To make things even more interesting, our residents had the chance to test their knowledge with an interactive quiz, and to the delight of all to taste the signature Sweet Cinnamon Shaken Iced Coffee cocktail.
A visit from our furry friend, Coco!
Today our wonderful Nurse, Sherry brought her beautiful fur baby Coco in to see the residents.
All the residents were delighted with how precious she was.
We can't wait for more visits especially to teach her how to play fetch in the garden when the weather improves!
