Activities at Lethen Park Care Home

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Amanda McCarthy

Activities Coordinator

We all know that keeping active is important. We have created a wonderful culture within the home and we work together to give residents the best possible experience. We are here to ensure that residents enjoy an environment that is both stimulating and socially active. We ensure the team knows each residents' preferences, so that we can deliver a person-centered program of events and activities. Essential to our homely feel is the strong relationships of trust we build with residents and their families and friends

Employee of the Month - May

Employee of the Month - May

Congratulations to Care Assistant, Gayle Reid, who was named as our Employee of the Month for May here at Lethen Park.

Gayle is a very bubbly and cheerful member of the team. She engages with the residents and gets them singing, dancing and laughing on a daily basis. A lot of the residents are so happy when they see her

Well done, Gayle!

Royal Wedding Celebrations

To commemorate the royal wedding, a local bakery ran a competition, where they would donate 5 wedding cakes to the local homes with the most votes on their Facebook page. Lethen Park were thrilled to come second over the whole of Aberdeenshire.

The activities ladies and two residents collected the cake from O’Caykx Bakery to say thank you for such a kind gesture.

We also hosted our own wedding the rival the royal couple. Staff and residents dressed up to mark the occasion with cake and party.

Movie Night

Our movie night choice was The Greatest Showman, which tells the story of how the circus began. Residents enjoyed the film and the wonderful songs.

Fundraising Zumba

One of our staff members, Odette Bowes, asked her Zumba class if they would be interested in raising funds for Lethen Park's residents' fund, so they held an open class and invited the local community. Great fun was had by all and £150 was raised!

Therapy Ponies

Therapy Ponies

Lethen Park had a visit from Therapy Ponies Scotland. The residents, their families and staff had the most wonderful time and everyone had a smile on their face. The ponies spent the whole morning with us and were so well-behaved. We can’t wait to have them back!
