Activities at Lethen Park Care Home

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Amanda McCarthy

Activities Coordinator

We all know that keeping active is important. We have created a wonderful culture within the home and we work together to give residents the best possible experience. We are here to ensure that residents enjoy an environment that is both stimulating and socially active. We ensure the team knows each residents' preferences, so that we can deliver a person-centered program of events and activities. Essential to our homely feel is the strong relationships of trust we build with residents and their families and friends

Life at Lethen Park Care Home

Knit and Natter

Our Knitting and Nattering club has been enjoying the company of our volunteers Alison and Lesley. We have now moved onto our Christmas project and all residents are delighted to be working on our Project. We are working with size 6 needles, our pattern if you would like to support this is Cast on  30 stitches and Knit  7 rows, then cast off. We will then join all the sections to make a Paper chain style Knitted Garland for the tree.

Jim's Reminiscence Board

Jim Forbes one of our residents was able to support the home with a Dementia awareness board. Jim created this board reminiscing from 1940, 1950, 1960, 1970 and the 80’s.

Jim really took a great deal of pride in creating the board, which has been enjoyed by all in our memory lane unit.

Etta's Pamper Session

Etta had a real treat today as she enjoyed a visit to the hairdressers. After showing off her new hair do, she said that she felt a million dollars!

Etta was so delighted to send this picture to her beloved husband.

Happy Anniversary!

All the staff and residents would like to wish a huge congratulations to Helen and Bob who celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in style with a huge family party.

Congratulations!

Movie Night

Our kitchen assistant Chris provided the residents with a projector movie Night. Residents were delighted to watch TOPGUN and here is Netta and James ready for the relaxed evening of movies, popcorn and icecream!

Happy Birthday Jean!

Our resident in Memory lane, Jean, recently celebrated her birthday!

She enjoyed her day and celebrated with a home make cake from our chef Nick.

She helped Nick design the cake and was thrilled to see (and taste) the end result.

Happy Birthday Jean!
