Activities at Marriott House and Lodge Care Home
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.
Read our brochure 'Life-enriching activities' for more information about life in our care homes.

Life at Marriott House and Lodge Care Home
Painting with Watercolours
We have been visiting Parklands School once a week and one of the activities we did was painting with watercolours, so we decided to share this activity with other residents. Everyone’s masterpiece now has pride of place in their own room.
New for 2018
We now have a beautiful vegetable plot, which the residents are able to access easily. We are currently growing tomatoes, runner beans, cucumbers, courgettes and carrots.
1950s Day
On Wednesday 13th June 2018 we held 1950s-themed party with musical entertainment from the Jukebox Show.
Cupcake Challenge
On Thursday 14th June, we held a cupcake challenge to raise awareness for the Alzheimer’s Society. Staff and residents created and decorated cupcakes and prizes were given out for the best design and best tasting!
June Open Day
On Saturday 9th June, Marriott House & Lodge invited guests, friends and relatives for a day of community fun.
We hosted a variety of activities throughout the day, and the hospitality team provided a spread of delightful treats for residents, visitors and staff. The home was also visited by the Chichester Ladies football team for a special team quiz afternoon.
Creative Talks
Penny from Creative Talks visited the home on Thursday 7th June. This month’s talk was titled 'Famous Women - Especially Singers & Actresses', and took a look at the lives, loves and achievements of some famous women from history.
