Activities at Marriott House and Lodge Care Home
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Marriott House and Lodge Care Home
Open Day Preparations
On Friday 8th June, residents prepared for our open day with the assistance of our activities team. They were busy cooking delicious refreshments ready for afternoon tea! They also made so flower arrangements, which will be displayed across the home.
Variety Hour
Marriott House & Lodge were delighted to have the wonderful Alive Activities back again. Variety Hour sessions include music, poetry, dance and movement. The session offers both seated and unseated exercise based around current affairs, literature and iPads to engage residents and stimulate memories, discussions and fun.
National Fish & Chip Day
On Friday 1st June, we celebrated National Fish & Chip Day with a seaside-themed event in the morning, followed by a delicious, homemade fish & chip lunch. We rounded off the event with some bingo and tasty ice cream.
English Wine Week
On Monday 29th May, we celebrated English Wine Week. The afternoon involved sampling various English wines and just generally having a good time.
International Nurses' Day
We celebrated International Nurses' Day to show Nurses at Marriott how much we appreciate all their hard work and dedication. All the nurses received a special gift bag and a certificate. We also extended our appreciation to the local community nurses by delivering baskets of goodies to them.
VE Day Celebrations
On Tuesday 8th May, residents, loved ones and visitors joined together to celebrate VE Day with an afternoon of entertainment.
