Activities at Meadow Park Care Home
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.
Read our brochure 'Life-enriching activities' for more information about life in our care homes.

Life at Meadow Park Care Home
Christmas lights
We experienced the Christmas extravaganza of Blenheim Palace with Social Historian - Antonia Keaney, who took us on a recorded tour around the Christmas sights at the palace this year.
Our residents were able to discover the story of The Nutcracker re-imagined within the palace rooms, each one exquisitely transformed and filled with hidden surprises – from the toymaker’s workshop on a frosty Christmas Eve; through the glistening Land of Snow and onto the candy-cane Kingdom of Sweets adorned with the sweetest of treats and larger-than-life gingerbread men.
Operation Christmas Child
Our residents are proud to support Operation Christmas Child this year. The Samaritans mission is to collect boxe illed with meaningful goodies for children in need around the world at Christmas time.
Joy who supported the Salvation Army for ten years was pleased to get out and about shopping with her son to provide items to pack in her own shoebox. Residents supported Joy with wonderful donations and then ventured into the community to drop off at the Christian fellowship. With love from our home to yours
Children in Need
What a wonderful day we’ve had here at Meadow Park, one of our residents ‘Joy’ took great pleasure in judging, and awarding one of our Care Assistants ‘Sydney’ her certificate for best dressed Pudsey bear award
Joy, who has only recently came to live at Meadow Park has really enjoyed today, and became emotional, with ‘happy tears’.
Joy said ‘the staff really put themselves out for us, and it’s really lovely, Iv had a wonderful day’
Thankyou to all the staff for taking part and dressing up for our residents
Kindness day
Today we focused on little acts of kindness to our residents, staff and community in recognition of Kindness Day, celebrated on the 13th of November every year.
We got involved in a variety of activities throughout the day, our residents created and send out kindness cards to members of the community and their loved ones, and enjoyed reading beautiful poems about kindness.
We’ve set up a compliments station at the home, where lovely messages were placed for visitors, staff and residents to enjoy.
Remembrance Sunday
Residents had a wonderful long overdue trip outdoors to the local remembrance Sunday parade and service in Bedlington to pay their respects to the fallen heros. Residents were thrilled to venture into the local town for some much anticipated fresh air, and bumping into local members of the community, and of course paying respect to the fallen.
Finger painting
Residents have had a turn at finger painting, and what better to paint than Picassos pictures, on his actual birthday. Residents loved it, and one said the paint felt very satisfyingly weird.
Residents enjoy arts and crafts as parts of the homes varied life enrichment programme.
