Our wonderful team comprises nurses, carers, activities coordinators, chefs, housekeepers and more. These people are here to ensure that residents enjoy their time at the home and are supported to live life to the fullest. Meet some of our staff below:
Oana Lupu
Welcome to Oaklands Care Home website, my name is Oana Lupu and I am the General Manager. I hope you find everything you're looking for!
I have been a General Registered Nurse for over 10 years and joined Barchester Healthcare as a unit manager at Hilton Park Care Home in 2015. Since joining Barchester, I have worked my way up to home clinical lead, Deputy Manager and in May 2022 I was offered and accepted the position of Acting General Manager for Oaklands Care Home.
During my time with Barchester, I have always worked closely with Oaklands Care Home and was delighted to be given the opportunity to work alongside a group of dedicated staff who with their wealth of knowledge and commitment give Oaklands the unique warm family atmosphere they are so well known for.
I am passionate about working with the elderly and those living with dementia and am focused on providing the best possible care for them. I strongly believe that there is always something we can do to improve the quality of life for our residents.
Cristina Monville
Cristina is a registered nurse and joined Barchester in March 2004. She has worked for the company in a variety of different roles and, in October 2018, she was promoted from Senior Clinical Lead to Deputy Manager of Oaklands. Her role is diverse and she hopes to use the experience and knowledge she has gained to empower the team to deliver the high standards of care expected throughout Barchester.
Gabriela-Sorina Rusu
Hi, my name is Gabriela but everyone knows me as Gabby. I qualified as a Registered Nurse in Romania, but over the past 8 years have worked in the United Kingdom for over 8 years, 6 of which have been on a dementia community. I joined Barchester in 2017 as a nurse and was promoted to Unit Manager and then home clinical lead in 2019. I work with great patience and empathy ensuring the best quality of care is given throughout our home.
Jurgita Deltuviene
I have been working as a nurse for over 20 years. I have experience in ICU, mental health and elderly care. I am currently working in Willow Drive, which is a unit for younger physically disabled residents. I love my job and by brilliant team.
Jane Kennedy
Jane joined Oaklands as a receptionist in 2009. She began taking on Administrative roles within the Company and now holds the post of Administrator, leading a team of Administrative Assistants.
Anna Bate & Jo Lawn
Anna is our Activity Lead. She started working at Barchester over 14 years ago at our sister home Hilton Park. Having built strong relationships with staff, residents and families, Anna brings lots of fun to our home. Anna loves to sing, dance and laugh and generally brings oodles of joy to ours days.
Working alongside Anna is Jo who started her career here at Oaklands as a carer on Elms community in 2014 developing a passion for dementia care and completing her social care N+VQ Levels 2 and 3. Jo Joined the activity team 3 years ago and has since become the homes dementia champion, championing for a better lifestyle for our resident through staff training and regular audits.
Peter Rayment
I joined Oaklands in March 2022 as a maintenance assistant. My previous experience includes plastering, blacksmithing, and property maintenance, shop fitting and gardening.
I enjoy helping people and repairing things. I was promoted to Head of maintenance at Oaklands in April 2024, and I’m enjoying the challenge immensely.
I am a keen rambler and enjoy being outside and the natural world. I recently retired from scouting after being an adult leader for 18.5 years.
Ruth Galloway
I relocated to the United Kingdom in mid 2024 from Zimbabwe, Africa to join my children and sisters.
In the past I have been a clothing buyer for a Zimbabwean retail company, a sales representative and a transport administrator.
I am a qualified yoga teacher at a very junior level. I am passionate about art, having sold my art at exhibitions in Bulawayo and Zimbabwe. I also enjoy quilting and sewing. I have recently become a grandmother, which I’m thrilled about.
England is a beautiful country, and I enjoy living here.
