Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Eggstra-special delivery at Orchard House
Paul Webb from Foundation Multimedia in Newport arrived to deliver Easter eggs for residents and staff at Orchard House this week, a very kind and generous gift for everyone.
General Manager, Kim Fleming said: “As always, we’ve all been looking forward to Easter. It’s such a nice time of the year – the resident’s love all the colourful Easter eggs and we have been busy crafting decorations for the whole home. We are really looking forward to an eggs-cellent long weekend!”

Residents are preparing for the Easter weekend designing their own eggs for a mini egg hunt and decorations to be displayed around the home - not all treats are made of chocolate although we are looking forward to some special edible eggs!

Welcoming indoor visitors!
We are delighted to welcome visitors back into the home to see their loved ones. It was lovely over Mother's Day weekend when Joan Furnell, a resident at Orchard House commented: “I am so grateful to the staff here who make days like this extra special for us all and it was wonderful to be able to see my daughter now that we’re allowed to have bedroom visits from one family member.”
Her daughter Denise Hunter said “It’s great to see my mum again. I am so thankful for how well she’s been looked after.”
Following all the protocols to keep everyone safe, the nominated visitor takes a Lateral Flow Device Test and then waits 30 minutes for a negative result before entering the home. For those living further afield we are still very busy with Skype and Facetime calls!
Mother's Day!
We received amazing handmade cards for our residents to celebrate Mother's Day, with fresh flowers and a cream tea it was certainly a day everyone felt special
Delicious cake delivery!
We want to say a massive thank you to Jamie from a local business on the island, Reno Drains, for his wonderful surprise of these delicious cakes from Richmond Bakery for all our staff and residents. They were much appreciated by all and his kindness in memory of his mum.
Residents tucked in with a lovely cup of tea so it was a very special afternoon treat!
