Activities at Reigate Beaumont Care Home
Our specialist activities staff are committed to organising and delivering a fun mix of activities and events chosen by the residents here at Reigate Beaumont. We work closely with the local community who get involved in all kinds of activities within the home. We enjoy all kinds of events which could be anything from trips out to local places of interest in our minibus or visits from entertainers and musicians, spending time in our beautiful gardens, or providing great activities for the mind body and soul. We liaise with local churches and regularly hold multi-congregational services at the home.
It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as possible, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join with activities and invite them to our regular events. We also have a variety of volunteers who really enjoy spending time within the home too.
Karyn Borngräber
Each resident is unique and as an Activity Coordinator, I aim to create meaningful activities whereby residents can feel at home. From quizzes to games, stretch classes to flower arranging, reminiscing to enjoying our beautiful gardens. From musicians to Namaste sessions, outings, intergenerational and community involvement – a balanced activity program of body, mind and soul allows each resident to feel as if they have purpose and meaning in their lives. As well as sitting and having meaningful one to one engaged conversation or holding your loved ones hand – can allow a resident to feel that Reigate Beaumont is their home. With a background as a Healthcare Assistant, we are taught to provide person centred care. This has helped me to provide person centred activities.

Life at Reigate Beaumont Care Home
South Division Garden of the Year
We are so excited to announce that Reigate Beaumont has won South Division Garden of the Year. As you know Reigate Beaumont is famous for it's glorious gardens and we are proud to be recognised. Doesn’t the garden look beautiful? Our Garden Ambassador is usually out first thing in the morning watering all our beautiful flowers and plants on our patio garden. Here at Reigate Beaumont, residents can still enjoy doing things that they love to do.
Intergenerational Community Involvement
Residents at Reigate Beaumont enjoyed a trip out to Cavendish Lodge Nursery to watch the children do a rehearsal performance which they would be performing for their parents at a later date. The children will be graduating and moving on to 'big' school as they put it. One of our lovely residents Lynn who attended is the founder and creator of the famous Letterland books which are used in schools internationally. The residents thoroughly enjoyed meeting the nursery children. After the performance the children and the residents had a chance to interact with one another. A lovely trip and we look forward to the next visit.
Drum Corps Band
Residents at Reigate Beaumont were treated to a magnificent performance by Reigate Grammar School Drum Corps Band. The residents and relatives who were here thoroughly enjoyed the amazing skills this band has. After the performance everyone enjoyed cooling drinks, ice lollies and conversation - we can’t wait for them to come back!!
Community Engagement
Our residents had a visit from Zuzana, our Police Community Support Officer from Reigate. The residents enjoyed interacting and chatting with her - some sharing life stories with her. They look forward to her next visit! Head Chef Roman, prepared delicious cupcakes for National Cupcake Day and Zuzana took some back with her to share with her colleagues. She said she was very popular back at the station!
A visit from Helyn Clack
Helyn Clack Chairman of Surrey County Council visited Reigate Beaumont to have tea and muffins with our residents. The residents had made rag bunting for an event the Council is having end of June for volunteers who helped others during the pandemic. Our home provided the bunting for their event and the rag bunting will form part of their decorations.
International Day of Museums
We had an outing to Dorking Museum with some of our residents. Which was followed by a nice cup of iced coffee.
