Meet the South Chowdene Care Home Team
Our staff are what hold the home together. Each one of these team members are dedicated to providing high quality care and services to those we support, and ensuring that residents enjoy all aspects of life at our home. See below to meet some of our friendly faces:

Lisa Frame

Jilto Vellachal Jose
Jilto joined the South Chowdene family in 2024 and makes up part of the team of our wonderful nurses.
Jilto previously worked at one of our sister homes as a senior carer for two years whilst completing his nursing training. Jilto believes leading the team with a smile upon your face is one of the most important aspects of the job; recognising that when you smile, those around you smile also. Jilto loves nothing more than spending time with residents and creating meaningful moments throughout the home.
Away from the home, Jilto loves to travel and says that Nepal has been one of his favourite destinations and that in the future he would love to continue to explore the world trekking.

Niki Powell
I arrange meaningful activities for all of our residents based on their likes and interests. I love sharing fun times with our residents, their families and with staff. I thoroughly enjoy chatting with residents about their hobbies/interests as well as reminiscing in small groups.
Our activities extend beyond the home with trips to places of interest, places residents have enjoyed throughout their lives eg. Seaside, parks, garden centers, as well as craft/ art workshops at libraries and general interest talks around the area.

Val Coltart and Edna Scurfield.
We would like to introduce you to our Resident Ambassadors – Val Coltart and Edna Scurfield. Both of our residents take an active part in our life enrichment programme and the homes resident forum. They are voice of the resident group and as Ambassadors will meet with our residents to find out their values, feedback and any ideas for improvement.
The ladies are also available to participate in the recruitment process by being part of the interview panel and each plays an important part in introducing new residents to the home. When considering care options for yourself or a loved one is often a difficult decision and our Resident Ambassadors are available to answer any questions on your journey of what it is like to live in our home.
