Activities at Stamford Bridge Beaumont Care Home
The activity team within our home spend a lot of time committing themselves to organising a range of activities for residents. This includes, pet therapy, trips out to local places of interest, visits from entertainers and musicians, bingo, one to one pamper time, weekly quizzes, coffee mornings, arts and crafts and baking. Activities are considered to be a crucial aspect of our home as residents look forward to upcoming events. As a result, it is essential that our team work together with dedication, to ensure residents are entertained and involved in as many activities as possible.
Michael Lythgoe
I have worked in the care sector for 36 years, initially working for the NHS at Brandesburton Hospital as a care assistant. When the hospital closed I transferred to Townend Court and continued as a care assistant on the forensic ward for people with a learning disability. It was whilst working with the Occupational therapists at Townend that I discovered my passion for engaging the patients in activities of their choosing, I’m quite artistic and creative so it was an easy transition
I have many years’ experience working with the older generation and those who live with dementia, Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s and other diagnosis’.
I am really looking forward to bring both my experience and passion to my new role and to see the positive impact on our resident population.

Life at Stamford Bridge Beaumont Care Home
Ice-cream delivery!
Residents at Stamford Bridge have recently taken to the homes extensive grounds to take advantage of the glorious sunny weather. To keep residents nice and cool, the homes activities team donned their aprons and headed around the home to share some refreshing ice-creams for everyone to enjoy.
Residents enjoy virtual tour of Cathedral
We had a lovely time joining the team from Hereford Cathedral for an exciting virtual session.
We enjoyed a glimpse of this spectacular building and its treasures in a series of short pre-recorded videos. From the stunning gardens which lead down to the River Wye, to the Mappa Mundi and Chained Library.
It was wonderful to learn more about the history and beauty of Hereford Cathedral.
Residents lend their ears to musical performance
Residents at Stamford Bridge Beaumont care home in Stamford Bridge enjoyed an afternoon with a live music performance that took place at the home. Local Ian Malcolm performed a selection of classic hits including Cliff Richard and Elvis Presley.
Residents joined in with the singing, they danced and clapped along as Ian performed his finale song ‘It’s a long way to Tipperary’ . This is the first in house live performance since early March last year.
General Manager, Lindsey Leatham said, “Our residents had a wonderful day singing along with the wonderful performer. We do our best to provide a wide range of activities and entertainment at Stamford Bridge Beaumont as part of the lifestyle enrichment programme for residents, and this was one of our favourites!”
Virtual trip to a Safari Park
Here at Stamford Bridge we were pleased to be able to dive into the wild safari life of Knowsley Safari and to enjoy an amazing live stream tour of the park’s grounds.
Our residents were smiling and laughing as they got up close and personal with some of the safari’s most popular animals, including giraffes and meerkats.
We had a wonderful time learning more about the animals and enjoying some live feeding demonstrations.
Eyes down for a game of bingo
It was eyes down for Residents at Stamford Bridge as they came together to enjoy a game of bingo and there was lots of friendly competition in the room to see who would call ‘house’ first’! Residents enjoy playing as often as they can as it brings back memories of trips to the bingo halls. Once the game was played everyone sat back to enjoy a cup of tea and a slice of home-made cake.
Residents enjoy trip to the seaside
Residents from Stamford Bridge Beaumont care home in Stamford Bridge were thrilled to be able to get back out on our minibus with a trip to the local seaside organised by the team at the home. Though unable to get off the bus due to restrictions it was great to see how happy the residents enjoy their fish and chips by the sea.
Lindsey Leatham General Manager of Stamford Bridge Beaumont said: “Our residents had a whale of a time having fish and chips by the sea. Adventures that take place outside of the home have resumed for the residents, and we always ask for ideas on where they would best like to go. The day was a lot of fun, residents were able to enjoy a beautiful day taking in the surroundings.
