Activities at Adlington Manor Care Home
Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.
Lynne Bowler
I joined the activities team at Adlington Manor in May 2017. Previously, I have worked as a tree surgeon and have had heavy involvement with the Guides and Brownies. I love participating in activities with residents, whether that's by driving the minibus on trips outside the home, or by engaging in themed days.
I am passionate about my role and especially the challenge of coming up with new ways to engage as many residents as possible in our activities here.

Soaking up the Sun
We recently enjoyed the recent good weather by indulging in some cocktails in the sun. Mocktails were also served for those who wanted to have a tasty and refreshing beverage, but didn't fancy alcohol.
Morning Walk
Jack and Amy took advantage of the lovely day by taking a walk around to the paddock on our grounds to feed the horses that live there. It is not that far, so Jack didn't get too worn out. The horses love the residents visiting, as this means that they get extra snacks.
Spring Sunshine
Residents indulged in some cool ice cream and G&Ts on a beautiful spring day recently.
St George's Day
As part of our St George's Day celebrations, the Balloon Man visited to amuse residents with balloon art. A fabulous afternoon was had by residents, who enjoyed many varied designs.
Staff also organised for a vintage double decker bus to make a stop off at our home.
We were also joined by the Mayor of Bollington, Cllr Andrew Langdon, who joined in with the celebrations.
Fun in the Sun
It was the first sunny day of the year, so residents got to enjoy lunch outside. We were preparing for the Queen's birthday celebrations so, of course, Her Majesty was present as well.
