Activities at Alice Grange Care Home

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Penny Allen

Lead Activities Coordinator

Hi, my name is Penny and I am the Lead Activities Coordinator here at Alice Grange.

I have many years of experience working in care homes in Activities, leisure and lifestyle roles.

I love being part of the Alice Grange team and supporting our residents to live their best lives with fun, interesting, and varied activities available every week. I always feel that the residents' input into our weekly planner is important as it gives all residents equal opportunity to explore new interests as well as keeping up with previous passions and hobbies.

International Nurses' Day at Alice Grange

International Nurses' Day at Alice Grange

At Alice Grange, we celebrated International Nurses' Day with style. We enjoyed music from Martlesham Brass and every nurse received beautiful flowers. We are so lucky to have a full team of nurses and, with Barchester's excellent training scheme, watch them progress with their careers.

One of our nurses said, "I love my job. The management are excellent and the staff are always smiling and ready to help. Barchester provides excellent training and they encourage us to learn, teach and develop."

1940s Week

1940s Week

We always love dressing up here at Alice Grange, so we all decided to spend an entire week dressed up in 1940s outfits.

Jane and Julie performed for us, and helped us get into the 1940s vibe.

Her Majesty's Birthday Bash

Her Majesty's Birthday Bash

We celebrated the Queen’s birthday in style with music, dancing and lots and lots of cake. There was a loud and heartfelt Happy Birthday singalong, and we all raised a glass.

Happy birthday, ma’am.

A Piece of Pizza!

A Piece of Pizza!

We love baking at Alice Grange and nothing goes down quite so well as home-baked pizza.

The smells coming from the oven had the staff and resident's tummies rumbling; the results were delicious and made for a very tasty teatime!

Employee of the Month - February

Employee of the Month - February

Our Employee of the Month here at Alice Grange is Geena George, Geena is very popular with the staff and residents on our Memory lane unit. The staff have said 'Geena is a hard working member of the team and nothing is ever too much trouble!'
