Activities at Ashcombe House Care Home
Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

I’m a fun, loud and outgoing individual who loves organising fun activities for residents at Ashcombe House (and staff, if possible). I’m very creative and keep the residents very active, both mentally and physically In my spare time, I love doing a lot of fundraising, which usually ends up with me sliding in mud.

Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Ashcombe House Care Home
Sing a long Fun
Residents enjoyed a performance from Geoff from Reminisce entertainment, Geoff sang us through the years and we all enjoyed a good sing along.
Trip to the tea bar
We took a minibus trip to The Tea Bar in town, we were made to feel very welcome by staff. We all enjoyed a variety of home baked cakes and coffee. Everyone always enjoys trips out on the minibus and we loved the tea bar so will definitely be coming back.
The return of the Baking Club
The baking club has made a return in the homes café once a fortnight to bake delicious goodies to enjoy in the afternoon. Today we made Fruit Scones and Cheese scones, it was great fun and we all enjoyed eating them whilst still warm form the oven!! Delicious
Garden Centre
We all love a trip to the garden centre and we are lucky to have quite a few in our area to choose from. Browsing plants and flowers for our homes garden before stopping in the café for a much needed slice of cake and cup of tea.
Minibus trip
We are always out and about with our own minibus, drives in the country, park visits and even a trip to the local fish & chip Restaurant for lunch. The Minibus adventures are endless but the memories are priceless.
Knit & Knatter
Our keen knitters are back every Wednesday morning in the café, we have decided as a group to make blankets for when we got out so everyone is knitting a colourful square. Some people are not keen on knitting so they come for the knatter and there is plenty of that!!
