Activities at Ashlar House Care Home

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Activities and Events Partnerships

As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies

,

Ukulele Entertainment

We were joined by a ukulele group on 12th February, who put on a wonderful performance for residents in the Ashlar Day Club.

,

Sensory Rummage Box

Our highly-attractive, crystal clear sensory liquid set contains colourful mineral oils and water in a range of shapes and designs. When turned upside down, they provide a variety of ways for the droplets to fall or rise. These objects will captivate and fascinate and are an ideal resource for inspiring curiosity, developing creative language and understanding simple scientific principles.

Valentine's Day Preparations

In preparation for our coming event for Valentine’s Day, the home was adorned with lots of themed decorations. Residents and their loved ones enjoyed getting creative; it was a great atmosphere, and everyone was getting excited for the big day.

,

Musical Magic

Anastasia joined us once again for our monthly Music for Health session, and everyone had a great time!

Old Money

Old Money

We reminisced using antique coins, which lead to a larger discussion about memories of their era. This session was lead and guided by some of the regular visitors, who helped to educate us on the subject. Residents gathered in the lounge and enjoyed listening in on the conversation shared amongst the group.

For the Love of Music

We were joined by vocal entertainer, Steven Brown, who sang music from the the 1950s through to the 1980s. It was a wonderful show!
