Activities at Atfield House Care Home

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Life at Atfield House Care Home

,

Spring planting

Spring has sprung here at Atfield House. The residents enjoy nothing more than pottering around in the garden. So we have decided to introduce a small herb garden. We will be able to watch them grow and also enjoy them in some of the dishes that the chef makes too

,

Comic Relief fun

Residents and Staff all got involved and had lots of fun on Red Nose Day. Funny noses, silly jokes, music and laughter. All while raising money for a great cause. In the evening everyone settled down to watch the televised version too.

Surprise Mothers Day Delivery

Community spirit is always felt at Atfield House. So when our kind and generous friends at Freddies flowers made a special delivery of lots of box's of beautiful bouquets, everyone was over the moon. The smell of fresh flowers has flooded the home and put a smile on everyone's face.

The Magic Table

Our new Magic Table 360 has just arrived at Atfield House and is already a hit with our residents. Designed especially for people living with dementia in mind, it is interactive and creative, offering a variety of fun activities, from playing the piano to star-gazing.

Martisor Spring has sprung

Spring is defiantly in the air. Residents learnt about a Romanian tradition where women receive handmade woven bands as a sign of respect and prosperity on the 1st week of spring. So everyone received some lovely daffodils with the same woven bands attached.

Magic table comes to life

Atfield House has recently brought a bit of magic to residents by providing a new ‘Magic Table 360 and the Happiness Programme’ as a way to improve residents’ quality of life. It can be projected onto almost any surface and has a range of sensory games and images to suit everyone. It is such a welcomed addition to our home.
