Activities at Atfield House Care Home

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Life at Atfield House Care Home

Doorstep Deliveries

Some children from the newly formed local Sewa Day Charity. Sewa translated means Volunteer. Wanted to come down and bring some gifts for the residents at Atfield House. They had helped make small packages of care for everyone. The residents were thrilled at the gifts and even more pleased that they were hand delivered by the children themselves.

Garden Projects

Residents are really enjoying being able to be out in the garden and having fun growing and planting. They are growing a mini herb garden and have loved watching them grow and then being able to get the chef to create a masterpiece with them.

Relatives meeting via ZOOM

Atfield House are always making sure they can keep in touch with news and information with families of loved ones. With so many people living far away and missing out on these meetings. Or with many self isolating at this time. What better way than a ZOOM meeting. It was a great success and one the home will continue even after things start opening up. One relative said what a great idea this was. We all had a platform to chat & discuss what we wanted to, just all from the comfort of my living room.

Welcoming new Residents.

Elaine the General Manager is so pleased with the new Banner that is pride of place outside the home. They are welcoming new residents to join the Atfield family and want to share the news with everyone. They hope to see people soon.

Long awaited garden visits.

Atfield House have opened their garden's for the 1st time this week. Loved ones have been so happy to see their family members, Although it is still from a safe distance. The smiles from everyone has been wonderful to watch. long may it continue.

Gift a Geranium with the Mayor

The Mayor of Hounslow, joined the home for an afternoon in the garden. It was all sparked by a new incentive to gift a geranium to local care homes. Its a way to say say thank you and they are not forgotten. We were lucky enough to be chosen to start proceedings. Everyone had a lovely time, he took time to talk to everyone and thank and praise them for all their hard work. We look forward to welcoming him back again soon.
