Activities at Atfield House Care Home
Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Life at Atfield House Care Home
Making wishes come true.
Residents, at Atfield House have always enjoyed shopping and being as independent as possible, so staff at the home listened to what they wanted and made a portable trolley shop to fulfil their needs, and have some fun too. Simona the activities co ordinator is always listening to the residents and what they want to make their lives fun and keep them independent. A few of them expressed a desire to go shopping. As that isn’t possible at the moment she decided to bring the shops to them. The portable shop has started its journey as a Candy store as who doesn’t like a sweet treat. However the possibilities are endless. Isabella said “ its been great fun going to the shop and choosing my pick and mix it really did take me back to my childhood. We have been thinking of what other shops we would like, maybe a mobile bar next time so we can all enjoy a glass of something and some nibbles.”
Continued friendships
Elaine the Manager recently took some colour in cards down to the children at Buttercups Nursery. The home always celebrate Grandparents Day. She wanted to make sure that all those Grandparents at home at the moment who may not be able to have a visit from their grandchildren could express their creativity and love through a card. The children really loved colouring them in and delivering them to their loved ones. They even made and bought ginger bread men to the home for everyone to enjoy with a cup of tea.
New Friendships in the making
Our friends at Buttercups have been busy making and decorating cards for all the residents. They were so keen to pose for photos and show off their fantastic work. Some of them even made the trip to pop down and drop them off. We cant wait until we can have them into the home and make lovely memories with them.
Tending to the Tomatoes
Atfield house were lucky enough to be gifted these lovely tomato plants by Chiswick Buzz. Our residents have really enjoyed looking after them and watching them grow. The chef has been adding them to lots of dishes he has created. It has sparked an old passion for one gentleman who now makes sure each one has everything it needs to give us lots of beautiful fresh produce.
Pamper Time
We understand the importance of being pampered. Even though the hairdresser is unable to visit the in-house salon at the moment. This has not stopped the activities coordinator and the care team from stepping in and treating the residents to a lovely wash and blow dry.
Doorstep Deliveries
Some children from the newly formed local Sewa Day Charity. Sewa translated means Volunteer. Wanted to come down and bring some gifts for the residents at Atfield House. They had helped make small packages of care for everyone. The residents were thrilled at the gifts and even more pleased that they were hand delivered by the children themselves.
