Activities at Bamfield Lodge Care Home
Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Life at Bamfield Lodge Care Home
10 years at Bamfield
Pat Bidwell has now been at Bamfield for 10 years!
To celebrate this amazing commitment, we had a special singer come and visit us for the day and we even had a song dedicated to Pat, all the staff visited, there were flowers, cakes and goodies for all, Pat loves it here at Bamfield and is always ready with a smile and joins in all activities.
Creepy Crawley Visit
Our residents met some exotic animals. All of them loved it and were very brave holding some of the spiders and preying mantus. Some residents preferred to look from afar, and there was much fun and laughter from everyone.
Easter
The ladies did arts and crafts together and made some fabulous hats and Easter cards, enjoyed over a cup of tea with lots of chatting about Easter and our memories of when we were younger.
Abracadabra!
What a fun afternoon we have had with magician Steve and his lovely assistant - none other than our very own receptionist, Rachel. From flying foam doves, to disappearing eggs and vanishing water, there has been magic, mischief and mayhem all round.
St Piran's Day
It's been a very special day for two of our residents, as we celebrated all things Cornish - in recognition of Saint Piran's Day. Pat was born at Helston and spent much of her early life there and Jenny has links to Launceston, where her father worked as a tin miner.
The Feast of Saint Piran is the national day of Cornwall - Saint Piran being the patron saint of tin miners. So, what better way to celebrate some true Cornish heritage with some Cornish memorabilia, real Cornish pasties, Cornish crafts, sea shell chocolates and an opportunity to sing along to some traditional sea shanties - along with the Port Isaac band -The Fisherman's Friends.
It's been a smashing afternoon with some great singing! Thank you everyone!
St David's Day Celebration
What a lovely afternoon we have all enjoyed, celebrating Saint David's Day! It was great to talk about our favourite Welsh towns and cities and remember historical events and symbols associated with this beautiful country.
There were some traditional Welsh cakes to share, and following a Welsh themed quiz, we listened to some pretty amazing male voice choirs and singers. We even learnt some Welsh words and found out about - the art of 'cwtching!' 'Hapus Dydd Gwyl Dewi' to one and all!
