Activities at Bayleaf Care Home

We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we won't encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators will be dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events will be organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.

Bayleaf team meet the Mayor and Mayoress

Katie Wilkinson, General Manager, and Nadine Willerton, Home Services Advisor were invited to the Mayor’s Parlour to meet the Mayor and Mayoress of Huntingdon, Karl and Julie Brockett.

Nadine and Katie had the pleasure of meeting the Mayor and Mayoress at the Town Hall and were given a guided tour, which included the historic courtrooms and fascinating insights into the town’s history. The Mayor, who also runs the community volunteer group, Huntingdon’s Nostalgia, has fantastic local knowledge making him the perfect host for a history tour.

During the meeting, the Bayleaf team were delighted to share some of the community focused events they are planning to host, including a community gardening club, wellness walks, group talks on matters of importance to the community such as how to avoid scams and wider gatherings. The team also shared their commitment to local charities and how they are looking forward to working together to support the Mayor’s chosen charities in the future. The care home team extended an invitation to the Mayor and Mayoress to visit Bayleaf when the home opens in the summer. Mayor Karl Brockett expressed his gratitude for Bayleaf’s commitment to working in and for the local community.
