Activities at Beeston View Memory Lane Community
Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.
Luisa Painemilla
Hi there, I'm Luisa, Activities Co-ordinator at Iddenshall Hall.
I have worked with the elderly over 8 years and also for fifteen years in the social field as an Activities Coordinator for different social groups in three countries. I have a Degree in Social Integration, a Certificate in Theatrical Psychology and a Music Therapy certificate. In the past I have worked for local authorities and in a cerebral palsy home.
My work is very rewarding and it is a pleasure planning events and activities each month. I enjoy interacting with Residents and learning about their interests, preferences and experiences.

Enjoying the Spring weather
Here at Iddenshall Hall and Beeston View we have been busy enjoying the warmer sunny days with walks through the gardens, exercising outdoors to simply sitting in the sun and chatting over refreshments. On the walks around the garden, some stop to comment about the plants, whilst others simply enjoy the sun and the environment.
Sea Life London Aquarium
As part of Barchester’s Life Enrichment Programme, staff and residents at Iddenshall Hall and Beeston View in Clotton enjoyed an exciting virtual presentation, provided by SEA LIFE London Aquarium.
Everyone at the home had the opportunity to learn more about the SEA LIFE London Aquarium, which is a home to more than 300 species and 4,000 creatures and to see green sea turtles, feeding of Gentoo penguins and sharks in their 1 million litre shark tank.
The SEA LIFE London Aquarium is located on the ground floor of County Hall on the South Bank of the River Thames in central London, near the London Eye. It opened in March 1997 as the London Aquarium and hosts about one million visitors each year.
Gardening Club - getting the pots ready.
Residents at Iddenshall Hall and Beeston View enjoy the gardening, planting seeds and flowers and with the good weather, it was great to get outdoors to enjoy the homes extensive grounds. Conversations flowed as Residents shared their gardening tips, favourite plants and remembering the names of many different varieties along with details of their own gardens.
This week’s gardening club Residents begun to get the pots ready for displaying outside the homes conservatory. It was a splendid afternoon and everyone had fun before returning indoors for a refreshing cup of tea and a slice of home-made cake.
Easter egg hunt
The Residents of our Beeston View community had a lovely afternoon of fun and fresh air whilst searching for Easter eggs that had kindly been left amongst the spring flowers and blossom in the homes extensive gardens. The chocolate eggs were much appreciated and enjoyed with their afternoon cuppa!
Residents enjoy Easter parade
The Residents of Beeston View community really enjoyed putting their creative skills on show as they decorated their bonnets ready to wear on the homes Easter Sunday parade.
Everyone was delighted with the finished bonnets as they looked very seasonal, dressed with flowers, ribbon, chicks and ladybirds and were proudly modelled by their creators.
Easter Bunny
Beeston View residents have enjoyed a colourful painting activity creating Easter bunnies to decorate the home as part of their Easter themed arts and crafts session and were delighted with the finished results which are now firmly on display.
