Activities at Bloomfield Care Centre
We host a wide range of activities and events here for residents to stimulate them both physically and mentally. Relatives can often be found taking part; for example, they will some times join us on minibus trips and to enjoy entertainers and musical events. There is regular involvement from the local community, with ministers holding services for us weekly, visits from our PAT dog, and a good volunteer network. Additionally, we have recently opened a Dementia Café, which is held on the fourth Tuesday of every month. Activities are an essential part of residents' lives, so we strive to keep them active with a focus on what they can achieve and that life here is fun.
Cathy Jallow
Hello, My name is Cathy and I am the Activities Coordinator at Bloomfield care centre.
I joined the team here at Bloomfield in August 2017 as carer and have since moved into Activities.
The Activities role is varied and one which allows me to plan amazing activities for our residents to ensure their days are filled with lots of fun, laughter and social interaction.
I am always looking for new activity ideas as well as new places to visit, so please give me a call to discuss our life enrichment programme further.
Read our brochure 'Life-enriching activities' for more information about life in our care homes.

Life at Bloomfield Care Centre
The Birds of Bloomfield
Here at Bloomfield's Memory Lane, we know just how important it is to stay active. That’s why the residents enjoy daily activities that stimulate the body and the mind. Recently, they were lucky enough to spend time with some animals of the avian variety - and it seems like they really enjoyed themselves!
Toe-Tapping Entertainment at Bloomfield
Yesterday one of our favourite entertainers, Rebecca Hasselhurst, came to treat the residents with songs from the shows. The pre-lunch show was toe-tappingly marvellous and had the entire community of Mendip View singing out loud and working up an appetite.

Leftover Chocolate
On Saturday we found we had an abundance of Easter Chocolate, the residents committee on Memory Lane decided that the best course of action would be to make them into Cakes to eat at 3:00pm and that we did! (Although some didn't make it to the fridge.. Jean, I did see that chocolate around your mouth!)
Easter Bunny
Jane Rogers, (our very own Easter Bunny), came to Bloomfield this Easter Sunday giving out very large chocolate Eggs with mugs to each of the wonderful residents, The day was wonderful and the home was filled with laughter and happy faces. There was also an Easter egg hunt, Easter Bonnet parade and special roast lamb lunch.
The Elvis Experience
Bloomfield celebrated the ultimate Elvis Experience. He has the Elvis look, sound, moves, sincerity and passion that only a true Elvis tribute artist can capture. Paul delivers this to an audience with total professionalism and Elvis style. What a great time we all had, the residents were thrilled!
