Activities at Bluebell Park Care Home

Here at Bluebell Park our aim is to enrich the lives of our residents, through group, and individual activities.

We have a wide range of activities designed to mentally, and physically stimulate the people we care for, including regular trips out in the mini bus, and taking part in the community led events that happen in the village we live in. We hold monthly resident meetings so our planning reflects their wishes, and requests, for example we now hold a regular bingo club (which residents families love to attend) and a bowling afternoon which the gentlemen here particularly enjoy. Entertainers and musicians regularly come into the home and families and friends are always welcome to attend too.

Activities are one of the most important aspects of our care home, and we strive to have a full range on offer. Our team here at Bluebell are dedicated to ensuring our residents enjoy, and get as much out of our entertainment as possible. It is without a doubt our mission is to make sure that life at Bluebell is active, fun, and most of all happy.

Leanne Lowe

Activity Coordinator

Hello.  My name is Leanne Lowe and I am the Activity Coordinator for Bluebell Park.

I have worked for Barchester for 6 years as a Carer and I have now made the move to Activities.

During my time here I have built lovely friendships and knowledge of our residents . I aim to offer a range of varied and tailored activities and group sessions that are meaningful to each of our residents.  I am thrilled to be supporting the whole team at Bluebell Park in delivering fun, engaging and interesting activities for our residents. We also have a minibus which is used weekly to take residents out to cafes, local beauty spots and day trips.

Life at Bluebell Park Care Home

A little pampering for the ladies

The ladies at Bluebell Park have enjoyed a pamper day courtesy of the team in the home. It was a hard decision in which colour they chose! They ladies all agreed that they felt more relaxed and they had really enjoyed having some pampering.

Easter bonnet fun

Residents at Bluebell Park are busy preparing for Easter with an array of themed activities as they have fun in the lead up to the Easter Weekend, they have been making chocolates, cards and decorations and Easter bonnets for their in-house parade to see who has the best dressed bonnet!

A spot of fresh air!

Residents have enjoyed a spot of fresh air as they took advantage of the early spring sunshine to enjoy the homes garden. For some it was ideal to sit and relax and watch the fish in the pond.

Once back indoors a refreshing cup of tea and a slice of homemade cake was served. What a perfect day!

Designated Visitor Pod

We are very lucky at Bluebell Park to have our own Visiting Suite to enable families to visit their loved ones.   One of our relatives Debbie Shaw, who visits her mum every week, said “it is fantastic to have this facility, which enables us to have quality time together”.

Home embraces flower power

Residents at Bluebell Park celebrated International Flower Day which took place on 21st January.

Residents took part in flower-based activities throughout the day including flower arranging, reminiscing about their gardens and the planting of flowers in the home’s garden, which everyone really enjoyed.  Their collective knowledge about flowers gained from years of gardening experience was very impressive.

Home donate to RSPCA

Bluebell Park organised food and toys collection for pets in need at local Derby RSPCA centre. We were able to fill up all box due to generosity of staff, residents and they families. Thank you to all those that kindly donated.
