Activities at Bryn Ivor Lodge Care Home
Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.
Anna Przybylska
Hello, my name is Anna and I am the Lead Activities Co-ordinator in Bryn Ivor Lodge.
I have a degree In Tourism & Hotel Management, with specialisation in Organising Events & Activities’. I have also finished several courses and training to be able to deliver excellent activities that would work best in care settings.
I have begun my career as Activities Co-ordinator over 15 years ago and gained really good experience working in various care settings.
I am very compassionate about my job and I take great pleasure in helping others and seeing people happy. My main priority is to provide activities tailored to the needs of our Residents. I always make sure all our Residents feel included and interested in the activities our home provides. Nothing is too much trouble for me and I hope our Residents and their family and friends will spend many memorable moments enjoying the activities and events we provide.

Nurse of the Year
Liliana Ungureanu, nurse at Bryn Ivor Lodge, was recently crowned as the national winner of the Nurse of the Year category at the 2019 Barchester Care Awards on 3rd of October.
The judge for the category, Barchester’s Julia Atherton, Director of Nursing, said of Liliana that “Liliana has been a nurse for 30 years and is extremely talented, very highly skilled and competent. She could work anywhere, but she says she chooses to work in Bryn Ivor where her colleagues say she has ‘infectious enthusiasm’ and ‘is an anchor for the small group of nurses in the home’. We were struck by her modesty and her clinical leadership skills and abilities. She works ‘shoulder to shoulder’ and ‘in the middle of the staff’ and this is how she ensure the high standards of care in the home 24/7. She has developed a very strong clinically skilled and committed team and is a real credit to the nursing profession.”
Liliana said of her win that, “I am very proud, and very honoured to be receiving this award. We work hard here at our home with a focus on the people we care for, and not for accolades, but it really is very special to be recognised in this way.”
