Liliana Ungureanu
Hi, my name is Liliana and I am the General Manager here at Bryn Ivor Lodge. Welcome to our website!
I have a degree in Nursing and a masters in Management of Health, a vast experience and knowledge of the care sector and a real passion for delivering high quality care.
I offer guidance to my team of nurses, care practitioners, senior carers and carers to ensure the health, safety and well-being of those we support by providing high standards of care whilst respecting dignity, privacy and wishes in a warm and friendly environment.
My team and I will ensure that each resident and their loved ones are satisfied with our services at Bryn Ivor Lodge.
Michael O'Reilly
Michael O Reilly joined Barchester Healthcare in April 2017 and is the Responsible Individual (RI) for all of our Welsh services. As RI, Michael visits all Welsh services at least every three months and works closely with the home management team and regulators to ensure that the highest quality of care is offered. Michael is very proud to be part of the team.
Michael holds the position as General Counsel and Director of Quality, Risk and Compliance as well as the Company Secretary for Barchester.
Daniela Giuglea
Hi, my name is Daniela and I am the Deputy Manager at Bryn Ivor Lodge. I have been with the home since July 2015, I was promoted to Unit Nurse Manager in the General Nursing Unit in 2020. I have a passion for the care of elderly people and I like to provide a homely atmosphere for residents and their families, whilst also promoting high standards of evidence–based clinical care. We have a fantastic team here at Bryn Ivor Lodge who are all committed to delivering the best positive care to those we support.
Joanna Buckingham
I have worked in the care sector for over a decade, progressing from a care assistant to senior carer, and was promoted to residential head of unit in 2019. I am passionate about delivering person-centred care and assist in ensuring our residents have a good quality of life.
Emma Holloway
I have worked in the care sector for many years, working with various people who are on different stages of their dementia journey. I am passionate about giving my resident the best care possible. I have been working for Barchester since 2015 as a senior carer, and was promoted to head of unit in 2019.
Oana Dumitrascu
My name is Oana and I have dedicated to providing compassionate care in multiple nursing homes since 2016. My journey has led me to Bryn Ivor Lodge, where I became a Senior Nurse in August 2023 and was recently promoted to Unit Nurse Manager in May 2024.
I am passionate about this role as it allows me to utilize my skills to make a meaningful impact on our residents' health and well-being. At Bryn Ivor Lodge, we foster a nurturing environment where our residents feel like part of a big family. I am committed to enhancing their quality of life and ensuring they receive the highest standard of care.
Divya Varghese
Hello, I am Divya, Unit Nurse Manager at Bryn Ivor Lodge Care Home.
I joined the Bryn Ivor Lodge team in 2021 as a Healthcare Assistant before obtaining my UK nursing qualification. I qualified in 2023 and have recently been promoted as a Unit Nurse Manager.
I am delighted to be a part of this team. I am an experienced nurse with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Master's in public health.
My goal is to look after all residents in a way that they are at the centre of everything I do and make their lives meaningful, comfortable and joyful.
Clare Matthews
Hello, my name is Clare Matthews I started as an Admin Assistant at the Bryn Ivor Lodge Care Home in December 2016 and was promoted to Home administrator in 2022. You can find me in the back office or at reception, I look after the financial side of the home answer the phone calls look after the new starters within the home and provide excellent customer service.
Anna Przybylska
Hello, my name is Anna and I am the Lead Activities Co-ordinator in Bryn Ivor Lodge.
I have a degree In Tourism & Hotel Management, with specialisation in Organising Events & Activities’. I have also finished several courses and training to be able to deliver excellent activities that would work best in care settings.
I have begun my career as Activities Co-ordinator over 15 years ago and gained really good experience working in various care settings.
I am very compassionate about my job and I take great pleasure in helping others and seeing people happy. My main priority is to provide activities tailored to the needs of our Residents. I always make sure all our Residents feel included and interested in the activities our home provides. Nothing is too much trouble for me and I hope our Residents and their family and friends will spend many memorable moments enjoying the activities and events we provide.
Karen Alberts
With over 15 years of experience in culinary management within care homes, I have developed a deep understanding of how to create nutritious, well-balanced meals that cater to diverse dietary needs. I spent a decade as a chef in a care home in Montreal, where I honed my skills in meal planning and food safety, ensuring the well-being of residents was always a priority. Before joining Barchester, I spent two years in a care home in Bristol, where I refined my ability to design menus that cater to a variety of tastes while maintaining the highest standards of care. My passion for food and commitment to providing the best dining experience for residents is at the heart of everything I do.
David Grist
Hi, I'm David, the Maintenance Manager at Bryn Ivor Lodge.
I've been part of this amazing team since December 2019, and I absolutely love working here! I've been in the maintenance industry for almost 20 years, but my experience at Bryn Ivor is unlike any other. I really enjoy interacting with the residents and find it extremely fulfilling to help out wherever I can.

I'm excited to be the new Head Housekeeper at Bryn Ivor Lodge. Previously, I worked in the hotel industry with Celtic Collection. I decided to join Barchester to broaden my experience in the caring sector because I have a genuine passion for helping and caring for others.
In my free time, I enjoy playing sports and visiting my family.”
Ella Melesteanu
Hello, my name is Ella and I started working at Bryn Ivor Lodge in April 2017 as a Care Assistant. With dedication to care and passion for learning, I was promoted to Senior Care Assistant then Team Leader, being a support to our residents and staff. I have always been keen on understanding and helping individuals with Dementia, this is the reason why I became a Dementia Champion.
Being eager to learn and help more I became Admin Assistant in April 2023 and you can find me in reception answering phone calls, helping with recruitment and ordering and also with staff rotas.
Sophia Reed
Hi, I'm Sophia, the Activities Coordinator at Bryn Ivor Lodge. My top priority is making sure our residents feel happy and cosy in their homes. I'm a super crafty person and love coming up with new and exciting activities for everyone to enjoy. When I'm not busy planning, you can usually spot me outside tending to the garden - especially when the sun is shining!
Jordana Sexton
Hello there! I’m Jordana Sexton, but you can call me Jay! I’m thrilled to be the 2nd Chef at Bryn Ivor Lodge.
Before embarking on this incredible journey, I ran my own coffee shop and catering business for 8 amazing years. It was during that time I discovered my passion for catering—it turns out I have quite a flair for it! Baking is a true joy for me, and I whip up delicious creations not just for our wonderful residents, but also in my free time.
I can’t wait to dive into this exciting new chapter at Bryn Ivor Lodge and bring some delicious flavours to life!
