Activities at Chalfont Lodge Care Home
Chalfont Lodge is a large care home and we have a diverse range of groups and events to ensure that everyone feels welcome and included. In the Lifestyle team we work hard to create a sense of community and ensure there is always someone to talk to and something to do.
Our residents help us to plan the monthly lifestyle programme, making sure that everyone has something they like, enabling people to keep up with life long hobbies or pick up new ones. We have long term projects like our summer parties, car shows, BBQs, craft fairs, Christmas shows to mention a few and residents can be as involved as they would like in all stages of the planning or just come along and enjoy on the day.
We love going out on trips, to lunch, shopping or to socialise with other local groups, we also have many people who come into visit us with church services, music, talks and support for our bigger events.
We have a fantastic team of staff and every department is involved in making sure our residents get the most out of living here. We have a brilliant music therapist who works her magic 3 days a week, running group and individual sessions. Our Physiotherapy team keep everyone fit and active, working with us to make sure everyone has access to sports and team games.
We have a full programme groups, events and clubs but none of it would be possible without our residents and their families, we all work together to make this a home from home and to keep laughter and friendship at the heart of what we do.

Hello, I’m Alex the Activities Lead at Chalfont Lodge, working with me is Louise Doyle. I've worked at Chalfont Lodge for 8 years now. I originally started off as a volunteer and fell in love with the residents, families and staff. Since then, I've been an Activity assist, Activity Coordinator and now the head of the department! Life at Chalfont Lodge Care Home
International Nurses' Day at Chalfont
We celebrated International Nurses' Day, giving thanks and appreciation to our hard-working, committed and dedicated nurses who are the heart, soul and backbone of our caring community at Chalfont Lodge Nursing Care Centre.
International Nurses' Day carries on the tradition of marking Florence Nightingale's birthday, and reminds us of what a crucial role she played in reforming the healthcare standards that are upheld today.
Our home Manager, Emerson Kupfuwa, presented each nurse with a card and gift, whilst giving an endearing and heartfelt speech on how vital the nurses are to the well-being of our home life and the individuals who live here.
As an extra special thank you, our head chef, Dusan, along with Ventsi and Katerina, prepared a feast of food from around the world that included Spanish omelette and croquetas, Russian salad, Bulgarian moussaka and festive bread; a selection of British sandwiches and coronation chicken, as well as Romanian michy sausages and many other mouth-watering items for our hard-working staff to share and enjoy with the residents and their relatives.
Refurbishing at Chalfont Lodge
Councillor Linda Smith, Chairman of Chalfont St Peter Parish Council, joined us to formally open the newly refurbished wing at Chalfont Lodge. This celebration follows significant investment to the home. Our fantastic hospitality team provided plenty of refreshments including a lovely afternoon tea, topped off with a special Chalfont Lodge Cake. If you couldn’t make it to our open day then please feel free to pop in for a coffee and enjoyed some of the homemade cakes made daily by our chef and his team!
Snowman Building at Chalfont Lodge
Following yesterdays minor scattering of snow, some of our staff decided to go outside and make a snowman for the resident's to look at. Although it was too cold for any resident's to be outside, they happily sat at the windows of the Golf Lounge watching the staff gathering the snow and seeing the different sections of the snowman expanding and being added on top of each other.
He is still proudly sitting outside of the lounge, all be it slightly slimmer than he was when he was first made.
Chalfont Lodge Christmas Party Food
At Chalfont Lodge we are fortunate enough to have a fantastic kitchen team who always offer a delicious feast when we celebrate a specific occasion. For our Christmas party we were given a wide variety of hot and cold meats, fantastic finger food items as well as salads, and dips.
The chef and his team created a delicious array of deserts and sweet nibbles to follow and all this was washed down with some Mulled wine, Baileys and the Christmas classic drink - Snowballs!
Christmas Day Celebrations
The activities team pose with some of the many personalised gifts found wrapped and ready to be handed out to the residents. Each resident was wished a very Merry Christmas and had some time spent with them to open their gifts. Eileen Basden was particularly impressed with her box of classic Lavender and Rose body wash, talc’s and creams!
Christmas Pantomime at Chalfont Lodge
Our Christmas pantomime this year was “Dick Whittington” which was performed by the ever entertaining Carousel Theatre company. The resident’s laughed and clapped along to the trio’s frolics and the occasional “it’s behind you” was called out throughout the performance! One of the resident’s, Ray Dorrington, decided to get up and dance with them and the trio welcomed him as their newest member of the theatre company, embracing him to take a bow at the end of the performance.
