Activities at Chater Lodge Care Home
We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.
Maria Durrant
Hello. I am Maria and I have lived in Ketton for most of my life. I worked at the local primary school before joining Chater Lodge in 2019. My first role here was as a Dining Host and have now found my passion in creating an interesting and inclusive programme of activities for all our residents. I like having fun with residents, dressing up, singing songs and celebrating special events. I love being a part of the team here and my career change to Activities Coordinator is the best thing I have ever done.

Life at Chater Lodge Care Home

Advent Calendars from Zoe
Residents at Chater Lodge were surprised and delighted to receive an advent calendar each from Zoe, the General Manager of our home.
A mild day in the garden
Olive made the most of some mild weather recently to spend a little time in the fresh air and pretty surroundings of the patio area in the Chater Lodge garden.
Caroline's stretches
We often do one-to-one activities with residents at Chater Lodge to make sure everyone has opportunities to do things they really enjoy. Some people just like to chat, or play a game, or go for a walk. Caroline asked to do some extra exercise so Maria sat with her in her room and they did some stretches together.
Recalling our careers
We spent an afternoon reminiscing about the varied employment and careers that Chater Lodge residents had during their working lives. Sheila used one of our therapy dolls to tell us all about her fascinating career as a midwife.
Vera's day out with her daughter
Vera enjoyed a day out with her daughter Vicky, when they went to a creative session with Pop Up Art in Stamford. They enjoyed food and drinks while they were out and returned to Chater Lodge very happy after their quality time together.
