Activities at Cherry Trees Care Home
Our activities team are constantly striving to mentally and physically stimulate those we support by organising group and individual social events for anyone and everyone to participate in. There are regular outings in the minibus to nearby places of interest, including the local theatre, as well as visits from Pat dogs, musicians and entertainers. We also host bingo, quiz and knitter natter afternoons that we encourage relatives and the local community to attend. Our Gentleman's Club is also open to non-residents every Thursday afternoon from 2:30pm, join us for a tipple of your choice, we have plenty of snacks and chats. For the ladies, our beauty salon provides; hairdressing and nail pampering, you too can enjoy a drink and some well-deserved 'me' time. Activities are one of the most important aspects of a care home, so it is essential that our team are dedicated to ensuring that residents are entertained, and that life at Cherry Trees is fun and active.

Life at Cherry Trees Care Home
Tuesday Trip - The Garden Centre
Our minibus is put to good use every Tuesday, our residents have an ever growing list of local areas and attractions they wish to visit. This week it was Mappleborough Green Garden Centre. Everyone was impressed by the new décor; lovely Easter display and spring flowers, giving them lots of ideas for our Gardening club sowing sessions. They all agreed, coffee and cake in the restaurant was a perfect way to finish the trip.
Flippin' great Pancake Day
Everyone had a good time on Pancake Day at Cherry Trees from making and shaping then decorating with delicious toppings of strawberries and cream, syrup and chocolate flakes. Residents and staff went head to head in a flipping completion with the winners' pancake reaching just centimetres from the ceiling before landing safely in the pan!
Out & About in Wythall
A group of our wonderful residents enjoyed a day trip to the heart of the Wythall community to spend time wondering around Shirley Aquatics and viewing the amazing aquariums, where all manner of fish and marine life are on display, before relaxing in the Becketts Farm Restaurant and Coffee Shop for coffee and scrumptious tea cakes.
Pat Dog Therapy
Residents at Cherry Trees Care Home enjoyed a day with 'Milo' the Pat Dog. His playful presence in their rooms and communal areas made everyone’s day. We all look forward to seeing him again.
Gentlemen's Club
Every Thursday afternoon we hold a 'Gentleman's Club' (ladies welcome) in one of the Cherry Trees lounges. Guests are treated to their favourite tipple and bar snacks, they can enjoy a game of cards, dominoes or just join in on some gentlemanly chat. All staff took a moment recently to raise a glass to the founder of this wonderful weekly event; 'thank you' John, it was a fabulous idea.
Valentine's Day
On 14th February ‘the day of love’ our beautiful home was filled with romance. All our ladies received a single red rose and the Cherry Trees chef prepared a delicious menu for all to enjoy. Tables for two were set up for those romantic couples who got to reminisce and share their own 'Love Stories'.
