Activities at Crabwall Hall Care Home
Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.
Jacqui Cameron
We all know that keeping active is important. We have created a wonderful culture within the home and we work together to give residents the best possible experience. We are here to ensure that residents enjoy an environment that is both stimulating and socially active. We ensure the team knows each residents' preferences, so that we can deliver a person-centered program of events and activities. Essential to our homely feel is the strong relationships of trust we build with residents and their families and friends. The home also has its very own minibus for our numerous outings for coffee and shopping, which residents love.

Life at Crabwall Hall Care Home
New Year's Eve
All the staff and residents at Crabwall Hall would like to wish you and your families a Happy New Year for 2022.....
We had a lovely time enjoying the festivities, lots of fun and laughter in our newly refurbished lounge, which is close to completion.
Deck the halls
Residents at Crabwall Hall love to get all festive in their rooms and this year was no exception. There are baubles, trees, father Christmases, tinsel and pretty lights everywhere.
Barbara has brought her Father Christmas figure from home. It was a reminder of her late husband Geoff, who always parked his wheel chair in a certain place in the hallway, when he passed away Barbara wanted to fill the space with something comforting, so bought this soft statue of Santa to go in its place. It has comforted her for over 16 years. Pat loves a bit of bling so son Paul brought in this sparkly red Christmas tree that lights up in the dark.
Residents relatives have also got involved by creating person centred door hangings for their loved ones and the snow man on Betty’s door is a wonderful example.
Naughty Elf makes a return
After the success of the Naughty Elf campaign we ran last year, this year we allowed him to return to share his mischief again with our residents. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the fun we had last year and are happy to see him up to his old tricks again.
Christmas Jumper Day
Today staff and residents got dressed up in their best Christmas jumper and t shirt to help raise money for a very worthy cause – Save the Children. Each person in festive gear donated £2.00 to the charity and a decent sum was raised.
Resident Barbara Cramp also joined in the fun with her antler horns and Christmas tree jumper
Magic of the Nutcracker
We experienced the magic of the Nutcracker with a special interactive workshop led by English National Ballet Associate Artists.
Our residents were able to take a magical journey thorough Edwardian London and to learn more about the enchanted Nutcracker characters: Clara, the Mouse King, and her valiant Nutcracker doll. The session included a chair-based dance workshop, clips of the ballet on stage and a Christmas carol sing-along, truly enjoyed by all.
Christmas truffles
We had a lovely time joining Paul Hawkins and Steve Wilkes from Unilever for an exciting immersive Christmas experience.
Our residents were welcomed with chocolate treats as Paul and Steve took them on an exciting chocolate truffle making and biscuit decorating journey.
To finish off the Christmas special event, our residents enjoyed a themed quiz and a singalong.
We all had a wonderful time.
