Meg Cleal

General Manager

My name is Meg and I am delighted introduce myself as the General Manager at Crandon Springs.

I began my career in care in 2011 as a Senior Care Assistant. Since then, I have advanced through roles such as Team Leader and Deputy, culminating in management positions. Alongside my career in care, I have also managed a large portfolio of properties and led teams, which has enriched my experience in both fields. Although my childhood dream was to become a registered nurse, I am grateful to have found a fulfilling career within this sector. My focus is always on delivering exceptional care and service, ensuring safety, and fostering a welcoming atmosphere.

I am committed to supporting our team at Crandon Springs and am eager to enhance our community's reputation. I maintain an open-door policy and welcome any feedback you may have. Your insights are invaluable in helping us provide the best care possible.

Darius Ivana

Deputy General Manager

I’m Darius Ivana, the Deputy General Manager at Crandon Springs, having joined the team in February  2025.  With over five years of experience in the care sector, I’ve developed a strong passion for supporting elderly people and ensuring that their needs are met with the utmost compassion and professionalism. Throughout my career, I have worked in a variety of care settings, always with a focus on delivering person-centred care and promoting the well-being of those I support.

At Crandon Springs, one of my core responsibilities is to support the General Manager in the day-to-day running of the facility, ensuring we maintain the highest standards of care and a positive environment for both residents and staff. I’m committed to making sure that our residents’ needs are met on a daily basis, providing them with the care, dignity, and respect they deserve.

In addition to resident care, I place great importance on the well-being and support of our staff. I believe a happy and well-supported team is key to delivering outstanding care. I work closely with staff to ensure they have the resources, training, and support they need to excel in their roles, and I encourage a collaborative, team-oriented environment. Together, we aim to provide exceptional care and create a positive, supportive atmosphere for everyone at Crandon Springs.

I’m also in the process of completing my Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care, which will further enhance my ability to lead with confidence and insight. As I continue to grow in my role, I’m excited to work alongside such a dedicated team, continually striving to improve the lives of our residents and contribute to the ongoing success of Crandon Springs

Hello my name is Karen, I am the Admin Manager here at Crandon Springs.  I feel very privileged to be a part of the team and making a difference in our resident’s life.  No day is the same here, which I absolutely love!

When I'm not busy keeping the home running smoothly, I love to travel and explore new places, am a big Manchester City fan and love music.  I will often be one of the first faces that you'll see here, so I look forward to welcoming you into our wonderful home.

Emily Merchant

Activities Coordinator

Hello, my name is Emily and I’m the Activities Coordinator here at Crandon Springs.

My focus is on on creating a full and engaging life enrichment schedule for our residents ensuring their days are filled with mental and physical well-being.

I have a background in teaching and was a childminder for 10 years. I believe in intergenerational connections and regularly include opportunities for residents to interact with the younger generations.

My goal is to create a vibrant, active environment for our residents. When you stop by please do come and say Hello!

I have a wealth of experience in the kitchen and look forward to bringing my passion and flare for our residents to enjoy!

I previously ran my own property maintenance company for many years and, after relocating, have joined Crandon Springs Care Home. It really is a stunning home with lovely residents and staff and I work hard to maintain its high standards, everyday.

Louise Hoskins

Head Housekeeper

Hello, my name is Louise and I am proud to introduce myself as the Head Housekeeper here at Crandon Springs Care Home.

I have worked within the hospitality industry for the last 10 years and have found a passion for housekeeping. I understand the urgency and importance of my role whilst maintaining the highest level of cleanliness and standards throughout the home.

I love my role, it gives me a real sense of satisfaction and pride. Alongside my career, I am extremely passionate about supporting and volunteering at The German Shepard Rescue Centres locally.

Charlotte Compton

Administrator assistant

Hi, my name is Charlotte. I am the Admin Assistant here at Crandon Springs. I joined the busy administration team here once I returned from maternity leave, after having my beautiful daughter. Although you'll usually find me as the friendly face at reception, you may see me locally representing my local skittles team or performing at the Carnival, where I have been both a club and committee member for over 10 years. Some of our residents often remind me of the time they watched me perform whilst dressed as a pumpkin!

Tereka Nubu is a caring and dedicated care taker at Barchester Health Care Home .With a Diploma in Social Work and Social Administration, I have a deep understanding of the needs of the elderly and am committed to providing compassionate care to all individuals.

Hi, my name is Liza.

I qualified as a Teaching assistant and worked within the Education sector for nearly 10 years, although I enjoyed my job I felt it was the right time for a career changed.

I have worked within the care sector for 5 years, working within the community to enable people to stay in their homes for as long as possible and now as a carer assistant in Crandon Springs.

Hello! My name is Tanya. I am a Care Assistant here at Crandon Springs and I am very proud to say that I have worked for Barchester for many years, having previously worked for another of our residential nursing homes before relocating to Wells. I feel so lucky to be able to say that I work in such a beautiful setting with an outstanding team. When I am not working, I enjoy walking and love to take advantage of the wonderful local countryside, smelling Lily of the Valley with it's beautiful bell-shaped white flowers.

Hello, my name is Kath and I’m the Activities Assistant here at Crandon Springs.

As part of the Activities and lifestyle enrichment team, I help in organising our daily activities, ensuring that all of our residents have a variety of activities to choose from each day. I love enriching our residents’ lives by providing meaningful and engaging activities and, having been both a teacher and care assistant in the past, have a wealth of experience behind me. You'll rarely find me without a smile and I'm very family orientated, and I love how both the residents' and colleagues Crandon Springs feel like a second family to me!

I am a retired Vice President of a large telecommunications company and have since lived in the Caribbean for many years. I love spending time with all of our residents, we have coffee mornings together, history sessions and musical therapy!
