Hello, my name is Kyley and I am the Deputy Manager here at Cumberland Grange. 

I am incredibly passionate about my role in supporting all of our residents, ensuring they are all well cared for, happy, having fun and thriving. We have a fantastic team of carers and support staff and we are all here to make Cumberland Grange the best care home.

Hello, my name is Romy and I am the Community Lead for the Ground Floor Community here at Cumberland Grange. I have recently been promoted from Senior Carer and I am so honoured to do such an important and fulfilling job. Our residents are so wonderful and I feel very lucky to care for them. I have many years’ worth of experience in the care industry and could not think of a more rewarding career.

Hi I'm Carolyn the Community Lead for our Top Floor Community here at Cumberland Grange. 

I joined the team in 2023 as a Care Assistant and since then I have been promoted to Senior Care Assistant and now Community Lead. I absolutely love my job and I aim to deliver the very best person centred care to everyone living with us.

Being with our residents is such a joy and an honour, as I learn all about their lives and the stories they have to share with us all, which are incredible.

Hi, my name is Mica and I am the Home Services Advisor here at Cumberland Grange. My role is to support clients and their loved ones who are looking to make the move into care. It can be a daunting process for many people, but I want to change that. I will do my absolute best to make the journey and process as stress free and comfortable as possible.

I am incredibly passionate about enriching the lives of our residents and ensuring that they feel a part of our local community. So when I’m not in the home, I will be out and about in the community making some great connections with various charities and organisations.

I am here if you have any questions at all, and if you would like to come in and have a look around our beautiful home, I would love to show you around. We have great coffee and cake, too!

Hello, my name is Gemma and I am the Home Administrator for Cumberland Grange. 

I previously worked in another Barchester home for 3 years as an Admin Assistant, as well as previous experience of caring in the community. I really support and enforce everything that Barchester stands for, as I feel enrichment is so important in everyone’s lives. 

Outside of Barchester, I have a love for baking and enjoy travelling to lots of different places. 

I am excited to get to know everyone at Cumberland Grange and be a friendly face for residents and family members. Feel free to pop in and say hello, there will be cake and coffee too!

I have been in the care sector since 2008, and I also have a degree in teaching. I am here to arrange and run a varied range of activities for our residents to take part in, keep them entertained and enrich their lives. From flower arranging, quizzes, arts and crafts to movies in the cinema, I try to make sure there is something for everyone here to take part in, and tailor events to suit each resident.  

Hi I'm Chris the Head Chef here at Cumberland Grange.

I have a wealth of experience in the hospitality sector, having previously worked in some of Devon's most established restaurants and gastro pubs. My passion is using locally sourced food, creating daily menus that reflect the great variety of seasonal produce available. Overseeing the kitchen I ensure that every meal prepared by my team is always freshly home cooked, served and presented with care.

I really enjoy getting to know all of our new residents, making sure that I understand their likes, dislikes and preferences and aiming to incorporate all of these into our menu selections. Along with my kitchen team, we strive to create a menu that delivers the home from home dining experience that everyone living with us truly enjoys.

Outside of work, my passion for cooking continues and I enjoy experimenting with new flavours and recipes for my smoker and BBQ and absolutely love all things baking.

I have been working for Barchester for over 6 years in the maintenance department. I have worked in maintenance on and off for around 15 years and have a background in carpentry and sound engineering. Aside from dealing with the maintenance at Cumberland Grange, I also enjoy taking our residents out on the mini bus for trips out.

In my spare time I enjoy walking and cycling, and I’m also currently learning to play the guitar.

Hello, I’m Natalie and I one of the Admin Assistants/Receptionists here at Cumberland Grange.

I joined the team in June 2023 and I absolutely love working here.  The favourite part of my job has to be chatting with the residents, they make me laugh and smile every day. 

I am always happy to help and welcome you into our lovely home. 

I am a very bubbly and friendly person who loves to help others. I have worked with animals, children, and special needs and, since 2019, I've worked in the care home sector. I am very happy to be the Receptionist here at Cumberland Grange, and look forward to greeting you with a smile.

Hello I'm Lorna and I've been working in the care sector since 2009 and this is quite simply the best job I've ever had! My career began in the community care sector, supporting people living in their own homes across the mid and east Devon area, first as a carer and then progressing to the role of Care Manager, focusing on producing person centred care plans for new service users.

My great passion however is to meet and support people and I just love the close personal connections that my role allows me to build with all of our residents. For me, everyone here is just like family and I really value these special relationships that I continue to build with everyone living here on a daily basis.

Hello, my name is Jude and I am one of the Senior Carers here at Cumberland Grange. I’ve worked in care for over 25 years. I love knowing that I make a difference to a person’s day, and nothing makes me happier than seeing them smile.

Hi, my name is Amie and I am a Senior Care Assistant here at Cumberland Grange.

I proudly joined the team at the beginning of 2024 and thoroughly enjoy my job caring for our residents. I have been working in the care industry for over 13 years now and I take huge pride in what I do. As well as being here for our residents, I am also here for our family members, too.

Hi, my name is Tiah and I am a Senior Care Assistant here at Cumberland Grange after recently being promoted.

I have worked at Cumberland Grange since 2023 and feel so lucky to work in such a wonderful home with the most amazing residents and great colleagues. Our residents are my number one priority so my days are spent ensuring they have everything that they need and making sure that they are happy. We have such a lovely environment here which makes Cumberland such a positive place to be. I look forward to welcoming new residents, too!

Hi, my name is Sophie and I am a Senior Care Assistant here at Cumberland Grange.

I have worked within the care industry for over 4 years now with a background of working closely with residents living with Dementia which I am very passionate about. I have also been a Home Warden which gave me great experience and skills to carry with me in my role here at Cumberland.

I joined the team at Cumberland back in 2022 and then spent a small amount of time at one of our sister homes, before returning back to my wonderful Cumberland Grange family at the beginning of 2024.

Hello, my name is Jenna and I am a Hostess here at Cumberland Grange. I have been here since the end of 2023 and I absolutely love what I do.

I have a hospitality background having worked in number of other well-known establishments, but working here and getting to spend my days with our residents is the most rewarding job that I have had. I am here to make their experience a better one by making sure they have everything they need, whether that’s a luxury hot chocolate, a slice of cake or a good chat. When I’m not with our residents, I am busy keeping our bistro areas and kitchenettes well stocked and tidy, as well as supporting our chefs throughout the day.

I primarily work on Memory Lane, taking care of our residents living with dementia which I am so passionate about. Our residents are the heart of our home and I take great pride in supporting them.

Hello, my name is Katherine. I work part-time here at Cumberland Grange, as a care assistant.
I started my career in care back in 2015, where I was a nursing auxiliary in the Royal Devon and Exeter hospital. It was a very rewarding experience and I enjoyed it a lot. I enjoyed it so much, I decided to start university to become a registered nurse. I joined Barchester June 2023 during a break of my nursing studies. I really enjoy it here at Cumberland Grange. I often go out on the mini bus with the activity ladies and go shopping with the residents to get their favourite snacks or go out to a community coffee morning. 

I am still on that nursing degree journey. I shall be returning back in September 2024 to finally qualify which I'm proud of myself. I'll be on a bank contract so you may see me about when I'm on shift.

I really enjoy care work, and I really enjoy bringing a smile to residences faces. See you around.

Hi there, my name is Holly and I am a Care Assistant at Cumberland Grange and love to spend time with my residents, making sure they are well cared for and happy.

To be in a job you love you’ll never have to work a day in your life. I have experience of working with dementia patients and the elderly of 10 years. I love that I can make a difference to someone’s day no matter how big or small it may be. 

Hello, my name is Bryony and I have recently joined the wonderful team at Cumberland Grange. As a creative individual with a degree in Graphic Communication and Illustration, I'm always looking for innovative ways to express myself. Passionate about food and travel, I love to cook international cuisines and have experience in a variety of hospitality roles. When I'm not cooking up a storm in the kitchen, you can find me playing guitar, piano, or singing with a jazz band at weddings and gigs. I'm excited to collaborate with Gosia to design and deliver fulfilling and creative activities that cater to the diverse interests of our residents.

I'm committed to making our beautiful home a vibrant and engaging space where everyone feels valued, supported, and inspired. I look forward to getting to know each of you and exploring the many ways we can come together to create meaningful experiences.
 

Hi, I'm Chris, Chef at Cumberland Grange.

I’ve over 25-year experience in the hospitality sector and have worked in a variety of establishments - from boats to bistros.

Working at Cumberland Grange is a real change in direction for me and that’s what I really enjoy about being here, as there is a lot of daily interaction with our residents and they make us all feel so greatly appreciated. I enjoy getting to know all of our residents and their individual dietary needs so that I can produce a personalised dining experience for each of them.

Prior to starting work in the hospitality sector, I completed a degree in Fine Art, something which I still enjoy practicing today and outside of work I have a vibrant mixed media art practice.

Hi I'm Ange and I'm a member of the kitchen team.

I'm here to assist Head Chef Chris and his team in ensuring that our residents have a fantastic dining experience filled with great seasonal variety and choice. Part of my daily role is to bake home made cakes and treats for our residents which is my real passion and I really put all of my creativity, heart and soul into this - when you love doing something its such a pleasure!

Hi there, my name is Josh and I am the Maintenance Assistant here at Cumberland Grange. I recently joined the team at the end of summer this year and have really been enjoying getting stuck in, supporting the home with all things Maintenance. I am always on hand to help our residents and families should ever they need me. From putting up our residents’ special pictures on their walls in their rooms, to keeping our home looking well maintained inside and out, my role encompasses a lot of different tasks which I thoroughly enjoy.

Before joining Cumberland in 2023, I worked at our sister home Raleigh Manor. I take great pride in my work, keeping our home clean for our residents. The best part about the job is getting to know our residents well, having great chats with them every day. I’m always happy to help.
